"How are you chefé (boss)?" Daniel asked.
"I am fine. What do you have to report?" Marcos says in an agitated tone.
"I've got good and bad news. The bad news is that your girl Melody is being watched by her old mentor. His name is Jeffrey Winston Lawrence. Twenty seven years old white male. Comes from a family of law makers here in the United States, but he's what they call a trust fund baby. Gets whatever he wants because someone in his family makes it happen. He was fired last year from the Law Office-"
"I remember." Not sorry that I cut him off. He needs to give it to me straight.
"He didn't get charged with fraud for what he did,but she was compensated. He is back in the same court house were she was told he wouldn't be allowed to return. Working on the sixth floor in international investigations. I hacked his system and you were in his file. There was a picture of you and Melody on your boat. That's why I guess he's going after her. Maybe he thinks he can get to you through her. There was an incident that took place today. He somehow got into the daycare and was around your son. She went off on him,but that only seemed to egg him on." Daniel said mumbling something under his breath.
"What did you say?" I asked.
"No the girl there in the daycare office needs to lose her job. Give her a wink and she's ready to tell you her life story." Daniel said with aggravation. "He's been following her,but she's smart. I knew when she didn't come back to work I needed to look into him. I found out that she went to get an order of protection against him there after, and that she's lawyered up sir." He pauses.
"And?" I say losing my patients.
"And that's all I know chefé. I will let you know when I find out more. Is there anything you want me to do?"
"Yes. I want you to bring him to me." The phone was silent.
"When do you want him by?" Daniel asked. I love that about him. Does what I ask no questions asked. As I was about to continue my conversation. Lex decided to chime in.
"Uh." I look over at Lex. "If I may interject? This guy is the son of a State Trooper and his uncle is a Judge. If he goes missing it'll be a big deal chefe. I'm thinking that we need to go another route." Lex said so I give him the floor to continue.
"I know you want to yoke him up right now. Let's wait to see whats happening then we can continue. And when he least expects it we take him." Lex shrugs. "It's just a suggestion chefe." He said looking at me waiting for a response.
"Your right. Daniel I want you to see what ties he has,and who with. Go back as far as you can,and what he's got to gain. Keep your distance though." I tell him.
"Sim Chefe."
"How is Michael?" I asked longing to see him in the flesh.
"He is well. A very good child. Calm demeanor, but happy. He is very well loved, and taken care of. Melody's friends and family help and support her, but Chefe I think we need to keep a close eye on them as well. When you see the files. You'll see what I mean. It's a lot of pictures of her and Michael like he's obsessed. All it takes is that one time to do something stupid." Daniel said sounding concerned.
"Then do your job. If after he receives the order of protection and he violates it." I said to myself balling my fist. "When the time is right I want you to send her lawyers all of the pictures he has of her and Michael anonymously."
"You got it chefe." He said then hangs up the burner phone.
I am still in Brazil. Just in a private location. The war is still going, but I have managed to get control of my territory again. I know that had to piss my father off. I still have my uncle and cousin locked up in a undisclosed location. Hopefully in a few weeks I will have control over both regions. The leader of o sangue fraternidade (The blood brotherhood) gave a good fight, but was dismantled very quickly. Like I said before rag tag group of kids. Unfortunately I don't trust anyone so the one's we caught they had to die. Why did they have to force my hand? I know where my father is and Charlie is with him, but I will wait until they show their ugly heads like the rats that they are. My men don't know yet, but I will be taking a trip to the U.S. I want to see them. I know it may not be wise, but I feel it is now necessary.
