Chapter 3: Shyenaugh

Kasalukuyang nasa morgue ang ginang habang ang limang magpinsan ay hindi mapakali nang malamang paparating ang kanilang Abuelo, na may sakit sa puso.

They were currently at Gideon's friend's hospital, since the Fordham Empire is also one of the shareholders of the said institution. It is also the finest hospital in the country.

Nang dumating ang asawa ng ginang ay napag-alaman ng mga ito na hindi nito kaano-ano ang sanggol, kaya't sabay nagkatinginan ang lima.

Matapos iyon ay kaagad sinabi ng kanilang isip na ibigay na lang ang bata sa bahay-ampunan na sinusuportahan ng kanilang buong angkan, para doon palakihin. Ngunit, kalahati ng kanilang desisyon ay hindi pa rin batid kung ano ba talaga ang gagawin dito, dahil may kung anong misteryo ang nababalot sa sanggol lalo pa't halos kahawig nito ang limang magpinsan. And because of that, a conclusion echoed their minds, but still, they forced themselves not to believe it.

In just a snap, they felt the sudden worry for the child which made them get so confused, that's why, they erased the option of putting her to an orphanage. Ngunit kaagad din bumalik nang maalalang wala silang kalam-alam sa pagpapalaki ng bata.

And for pete's sake! They are not even ready to babysit an infant!

Gideon, on the other hand, has tried to do a quick background check about the child using his MacBook beside the bench in the waiting area; but he found no record about her. He tried and tried, and even accessed everything he could access. But there's no single detail about the baby which made him get so frustrated. Then he gave up.

They were waiting outside the pediatric ward where the baby is being checked by the doctor, whilst trying to figure out what to do with her.

When the doctor came out, mabilis silang nag-unahan sa pagtanong sa kalagayan ng bata. Good thing, she just had minor scratches and no internal damages. Napag-alaman din nilang five-months old pala ang sanggol kaya kailangan ng dobleng ingat para rito.

"What if she was given by the heavens for us to stop being dick-heads?" Biglang tanong ni Vaughn sa kalagitnaan ng katahimikan, habang hawak pa ang kaniyang panga na tila pinag-isipan niya nang mabuti ang tanong na 'yon.

They were looking intently at the baby in her hospital bassinet with a transparent glass that is used as a boundary from them to her, and gave Vaughn their tired yet pissed faces.

"Shut the fuck up," they uttered in unison with his senseless question and just focused their eyes at the baby who is sleeping peacefully.

Sa hindi malamang dahilan, nakaramdam sila kapayapaan dahil sa mala-anghel nitong mukha at hindi nila namalayan na dahan-dahan pala silang napangiti dahil doon.

"Or one of you impregnate a woman, which made one of you the father of the child," hirit naman ni Gideon habang hindi pa rin nilulubayan ng tingin ang bata, dahilan upang halos saksakin siya ng kaniyang mga pinsan ng tingin.

In their mind, it do make sense, but they still don't agree with the idea. They will never agree with the idea! Dahil sa isiping iyon, halos hindi maipinta ang kanilang mga mukha habang ini-imagine na na mag-aalaga sila ng bata.

"Impossible. I always use my protection. 100% safe and durable," ani Vaughn. He had lots of 'em. Halos araw-araw siyang nagpapa-deliver niyon.

"I haven't had sex last year," wala sa hulog na saad naman ni Casimir habang nakatungo at pulang-pula ang tenga at leeg.

"Expected from a pussy," kumento ng kapatid nito. Instead of giving Vaughn a fit, he just stared at him with his bored eyes as if his brother's a great joke in his eyes.
