'winter solstice: part two: avatar roku'

𝖅UKO NEVER WOKE UP RYN EARLY THAT MORNING, the morning of the day when it all went wrong. He told himself that it was because she needed the sleep, the girl, who had obnoxiously reminded him multiple times, had been up for almost three days in a row. So that's what he told himself, told Uncle Iroh, and told the soldiers who guarded Ryn's room.

But that wasn't the truth.

He actually didn't want her to see the truth. The truth of who he'd become. And hopefully, she'd never known what he did so early that morning.

It was no use trying to shield her from himself, because soon, very soon, she'd see him for who he is. And she would hate him.

Ryn never awoke until it was bright and early that morning, but she sat in her newfound bed -- conflicted. She had a dream the night before, of a man.

Rather of a boy, but he looked to be her age. Possibly sixteen or seventeen, he was tan, his dark hair was pulled up in a ponytail, and he had these...bright and glimmering...blue eyes.

The dream itself was different scenes almost, of this boy, fading in and out, of him laughing, him angry -- him being extremely sexist.

The dream ended when she began to see what he was wearing, which looked blue. So now, she sat up in her bed, overthinking what the dream could mean, only because she didn't understand it. What did it mean? Why did she have it in the first place? Who was he?

By the time Ryn had gotten out of bed, dressed, and ready for the day, Zuko and Uncle Iroh had returned from the Senlin Village. Though Ryn never knew they were gone.

She stepped out from her cabin with her long curled hair in a half up half down with loose braids. The loosened braids led up to a rose in the middle, a rose that was also her hair, with red accents throughout the braids, tying up the braid at the end. She was wearing a red and gold short-sleeved corset, black pants, pointed black boots, black fingerless gloves, and her dagger placed on her thigh. Her dark eyes popped with her lashes painted jet black, her dark eyeshadow, and her bright-red lips.

When she did walk out from her cabin, she was met with her guards which Zuko, in her opinion thought unnecessary, had assigned to watch her. They all turned to her once her door slammed behind her, and they looked almost surprised to see her. Not because of her being up and about, but because of her appearance. Which annoyed her because she was wearing a dress when she went into that cabin, so they probably assumed that's what she was.

A damsel in distress who wore dresses.

Which she was not.

"What are you staring at?"
