I was in my apartment, ready to leave for Naboo, I just wanted to go home for an undetermined amount of time. Maybe 2 weeks, or 4 months like 2 years. I was in my room, putting my lightsaber with my suit in a bag. I suddenly hear someone knocking on my door.
I look up before I see Anakin, I smile softly before stepping forward.
"Are you leaving?
- Yes, I'm going back to Naboo. I need this."
Anakin looked a little disappointed, but I see him hiding his disappointment with a slight smile.
"So we won't be seeing each other for a while I guess?
- Yes, I suppose so. But we'll still see each other again, I'm sure." I say.
Anakin smiles tenderly at me. I look down at his black metal arm before I speak.
"Does it hurt to have a piece of metal hanging from your shoulder?
- No, I don't feel anything. Although I don't really like the way it feels."
I frown, Anakin then raises his metal arm, I gently analyze it then reply to my friend.
"I like it, it gives an exotic look." I say.
Anakin starts to laugh then runs his arm along his body. He speaks up.
"Did the council go well?
- Yes, Master Yoda defended me and Obi-Wan. I smile.
- Perfect."
There is a silence, I look down, twiddling my fingers thinking back to that day on the ship when he heard what I had said to 3PO.
"Uhm... I would like to apologize for what I said that day in the ship...
- What? That I was arrogant and too proud?" He laughs.
I shyly nod my head up and down, Anakin crosses his arms against his chest before answering me.
"You are forgiven. I'm sorry you felt like you were left out.
- You are forgiven." I say in return.
There is a silence for a second time. I sigh before turning around and grabbing my bag, I speak up.
"I have to go, I have a ship waiting for me downstairs." I say.
We leave my room, arriving in the living room. I turn to Anakin before extending my hand to him.
"It was a pleasure meeting you Anakin. I say with a smile.
- It was also a pleasure to have met you and to have teamed up with you Riri."
I smiled a little more when I saw that he had used that nickname again. I look up at Anakin before answering him.
"I like it when you call me that."
The blond man smiles at me, I turn my back on him before leaving, the elevator doors open, I step inside, turning around facing Anakin one last time. I wave goodbye to him, before pressing the button for the first floor. I could see his smile before the doors closed.
Anakin's POV
The doors of the elevator had just closed, Oriana had just left. I suddenly felt empty. It was strange, as if I had no meaning anymore. But I felt like I hadn't told her what was on my mind, and that frustrated me. I then approached the wall and put my forehead against it.
I shouldn't be doing this, catching her and telling her what I'd like to tell her. I can't. What do I expect? I sigh loudly before closing my eyes. Fuck it.
I turn around approaching the elevator before pressing the button to make it go up, but nothing. It's too slow. So I head for the stairs before starting to going down 89 floors as if my life depended on it.
I finally reach the ground floor after three long minutes. I get out of the stairwell before going out of the building and see Oriana in her blue dress, her hair was tied in a braid coming to the bottom of her back. I call her then.
"Oriana!"
She turns around immediately, I approach her. Admiring once again her face. She looks at me confused.
"Anakin? You're all out of breath, what's going on?
- Yes, I just went down 89 floors because the elevator wouldn't come up.
- Oh, you have something to tell me?"
I quickly catch my breath before answering Oriana.
"Yes... I..."
I have a block. I don't even know what to say to her anymore. I then start to think for a long time before resuming my story.
"That day, you said that you lived in the shadow of your sister..."
Oriana nods then by frowning. I take a deep breath, then I launch myself.
"So if you live in Padme's shadow, please live in my light."
She frowns, before gently smiling, she places her hand on my shoulder before speaking in a soft voice.
"Thank you Ani."
My heart stops beating for a few moments, a wave of warmth runs through my body before I feel chills on my arms. Well, on the one I have left. I blink slowly. She removes her hand before turning around and entering the ship. I watch her leave.
It wasn't a concrete answer, but at least it was better than nothing. I must admit that what I had just said to her was a bit vague and could be taken any way.
I just hope she took it the way I would like her to take it.
