Satoru sat silently in the talisman room. Though he didn't even bat an eye at the guest who chose to join him this evening, that doesn't mean he wouldn't react to his presence."It's been two weeks, and you finally came to visit me?" Satoru huffed out, his eyes rolling behind his talisman-sealed blindfold. "And here I thought you forgot about me."
Though the six eyed boy was anticipating some sort of sly response or boring excuse, he got none of that. Instead, Suguru was dead silent.
"What?" Satoru's lips fell into a frown. "The silent treatment, really? I thought you were better than that!"
Again, the black haired boy didn't respond which only grew Satoru's impatience. Nevertheless talking was the only way he could try to to catch his best friends attention, as his hands were a little tied at the moment. "You know it's rude to visit someone without saying anything, right? Maybe I'm not the one who should be locked behind bars."
And there was still no response.
Satoru's frustrations exploded in his words. "If you're not going to talk, why the hell did you show up at all?! It's not like they can kill me, so I'm just going to be stuck here for the rest of my life! Why the fuck don't you come back when you can actually talk to me about something-"
"Y/n is dead."
The air went stale. It took a moment for the words to process through Satoru's thick skull, but as soon as they did he seemed to disregard it entirely.
"First you don't talk to me, and now you're lying straight to my face. Suguru, if-"
"I'm not lying!" Suguru snapped back. "She's dead, Satoru! Y/n and Riko are gone."
"Is this some type of late April fools prank?" Satoru couldn't help but choke out.. "Y/n's alive. She can't help but be alive- I-I just saw her two weeks ago! There's no way anything could have happened!" This was nothing short of denial.
Suguru's hands were shaking tremendously as the words left his dry lips. "I-I'm sorry... it was all my fault, I couldn't even protect her when she was just a few inches away. Toji Fushiguro... he-he was alive."
Satoru's eyes widened. "You're joking-"
"How the fuck can I joke about that?!" Suguru raised his panicked voice. But he quickly cleared his throat, hanging his head down in shame. "I just... i never thought this would happen. That you weren't crazy- you were right to do what you did! If I trusted you, they wouldn't be dead right now."
Satoru was still struggling to process the information himself. You were dead? Just the thought got his head spinning - thee weight of it burying him alive. The more he tried to deny it the more he believed it. That scared him most of all.
"Please!" Satoru's words tinged with despiration. "I can't believe it until I see it- until I see her with my own two eyes... I can't take this joke, Suguru."
Suguru only shook his head which just instigated Suguru's anxiety. "Please Suguru," Satoru begged, "You're going to tell me she was murdered by some monkey?!"
The word pierced Suguru like a needle straight through his gut. He couldn't help but take in a sharp breath.
"Let me out of here- let me fucking see her!" Satoru kept on screaming, desperately pulling at his restraints. The only miracle here was how Satoru was still bound, considering how fragile talismans usually are. "You can't do this to me- stop lying to my face! Y/n is alive, there's no way she couldn't be!"
But there's no way he could respond to this. No, Suguru could barely even respond to the thoughts that were circulating in his own mind. Leaving behind his screaming best friend, the black haired boy took a step out of the room. Though he knew it was going to be tough to break the news to Satoru, he didn't anticipate how tough it would be on him. Dangerous thoughts were hovering around in his head and he didn't quite know how to deal with it.
