A long time ago, humans were at war against each other over the corruption of leadership and violence. One human survived after the the use of nukes with killed the rest of humanity into ash. How did one human survive? Well, his name was Josh, he was only 14 during the time of the chaos and his mother was a scientist and placed him into a cryogenic chamber before the nukes were sent into the sky and destroyed everything.
However the nukes did killed every human and destroyed every city, but animals were mutated into anthros by the nuke's gas. They had human features, and intelligent as a human as well. Years have passed and anthros were able to rebuild and start a new society for themselves as they take over as the dominant species after humans destroyed themselves.
Years have passed and Josh's cryo chamber opened. He noticed that the world has changed, clear skies, new cities that looked more breathtaking and advanced technology. He tried to fit in but most of the anthro society don't really accept him well just because he's different. Many furs laugh and make fun of him and calling him names. Even a few thugs beat the crap out of him for fun in alleyways. Many don't even want to talk to him or allow him to go into businesses and restaurants.
He was desperate of survival that he looks for food in dumpsters and sleeps and hides in secluded alleys. Today he is almost 18 and it was night in the city and he was walking back to his hideout and tried to avoid drawing attention by putting his hoodie over his head. Just then his bullies came and pulled him in an alley and beat him senselessly by punching him and kicking him while he was down. His main rival was Nathan and his best friends enjoyed making Josh's life miserable.

"Yeah! Kick him there again!" Lucas shouted as he cheered for Nathan finishing Josh off with his final blow.
"There. Why will you make yourself suffer no-fur? Just do us a favor and finish yourself. You have no potential being in our Society." Nathan says as him and his friends left while leaving Josh in the alley in critical condition.
He coughed some blood and just fell unconscious into darkness. A couple of minutes later, it started to rain heavily and two female anthros were trying to get home from the rain and one of them saw Josh laying in the middle of the alley.

"Cathy! Over here! Oh my god! He's beaten to the pulp!" Miranda says as she picked him up in her arms.
"It's the human! And someone just beaten him up and left him here." Cathy says with Sympathy.
"We better take him home with us. He doesn't deserve this." Miranda says as she carried him back to Cathy's house.
