Y/N POV
"Dustin look, I don't want you coming down there with us ok?" I say crossing my arms as Dustin looks over to Steve. "Oh but Eddie gets to go? He's never even fought in the upside down before!" He exclaimed in my direction.
I rolled my eyes "Dustin, I don't care ok. We have to go down there, to-to whatever you called it. And Eddie is just gonna be like the lookout or something." I said. "Watergate." Dustin said lowly "I called it Watergate." He finished.
"But that's besides the point Y/N I don't get why I can't go I mean what if something happens to you?" He says finally expressing his real concern. "Dustin, I'll be fine ok? I have Steve, Robin, Nancy, and Eddie there to back me up." I said giving him a soft smile.
He finally broke his gaze with me while turning to Steve "Please don't let anything happen." He said and turned back to me pulling me into a hug. "I won't, I promise." Steve said before Eddie stepped more into view "And I won't either, I mean how would we get married if something happened to her." He said smirking, while bumping his shoulder into Dustin's.
I hugged him back as he chuckled at Eddie "Ok fine, but promise you'll come back." He said seriously looking at me while holding out his pinky. "I swear." I said locking my pinky with his.
Dustin and I had always had this very close bond, ever since our dad left; and despite me being older than him he never seemed to shy away from the 'older brother' type role in my life. I waved at Dustin, giving him a thumbs up and a smile as Steve pushed the boat into the water for us.
"Ok, so what is the plan exactly?" Robin asked looking over at Steve as I moved in closer to Eddie so Steve could sit down. "Well uh- we- uh- you know- we go down there and just see if we can find anything or you know Vecna I guess." He said furrowing his eyebrows.
"Seriously Steve? That's your master plan you just dragged us all into?" Nancy said, sounding a bit annoyed. "Well I don't see any of you coming up with a plan." He argued back. Nancy crossed her arms, rolling her eyes at Steve before Robin leaned over towards Steve. "Real smooth." She whispered winking at him, causing me to chuckle.
Eddie looked down at me as we approached the middle of the lake where Steve previously found Watergate, "Ok, so I'll go in first and then you guys can all just follow in behind me." He said, looking to each of us to see us all nodding along with his plan.
Steve took his shirt off as Nancy watched intensely and Eddie covered my eyes laughing "Can't have you swooning over anyone else, sweetheart." He whispered leaning closer to me. I laughed and turned to face him "I don't think I ever would." I stated shrugging my shoulders.
