Y/N POV
I laid Eddie's guitar carefully on his bed so I could go finish cleaning his mirror, I had been just cleaning some things throughout his room since he hadn't had the time from studying so hard. Senior finals were coming around the corner again and he had to pass this year.
Suddenly as I stepped back I heard a loud thump on the ground and my heart dropped. His guitar. I just stared at my feet for a moment, too scared to turn around and see the damaged inflicted on his most prized possession.
Eddie saved up for an entire year and a half to get that thing, and I probably just ruined it in a matter of five seconds, and to make things worse I didn't have the money to fix something like that. I took a deep breath, turning around to see a chip taken out of one of the edges along a small scratch running along the base of it.
I kneeled to the floor, picking up the instrument and carefully inspecting it. I didn't know how to know what was wrong with it, but I knew it had to be something. This thought caused tears to immediately cloud my vision, 'would be hate me' I thought as I quickly stood back up, sitting the guitar on his bed.
I decided to finish cleaning and try and figure out what to do in the meantime.
—
An hour later, and not much thoughts on what to do, I heard the front door open up. "Y/N?" I heard Eddie yell from the front of his house. "Sweetheart, I know you're here I saw your car." He said walking back to his room with a smile on his face. I smiled back, but his smile quickly dropped at the sight of his guitar not in its normal place.
"Uh—why is my guitar down baby?" He asked, swallowing harshly. "I-" I began but was cut off by him rushing over to it. "What the fuck Y/N did you—did you do this." He said, turning back to me with a look of rage across his face.
"I-I was trying to help. I was cleaning and-and I laid it on the bed but I knocked it over—it was an accident I'm so sorry Eddie." I rushed out as tears clouded my vision again. He let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head and he grabbed his guitar, pushing past me. "I swear to god, this better fucking work." He said, going over to plug it in.
He sat down, after plugging it in, strumming a few cords and hanging his head low before I spoke, "I'm so sorry baby, I'll—I'll get it fixed, I promise." I said at the odd sound that emitted from the instrument.
"Y/N just please shut the fuck up, you don't have the money for this, it's just out of tune, I'll get the cosmetic shit fixed but I-I can't even look at you right now." He said bitterly, looking down at his guitar in his lap. "I'm sor-" I began but he cut me off once again.
"God Y/N do you not understand? Shut. The. Fuck. Up." He said, harshly annunciating each word as he spoke. I just nodded my head, letting the tears run down my cheeks for a minute as he continued tending to his guitar before I had to say something.
"Eds I was just trying to help really." I said in a whisper as he got up, towering over me, "Well obviously you just made everything worse, you-you didn't even do anything." He said, gesturing around the room, "Except wreck my shit, I mean you know how much she means to me." He said, pointing back at his guitar.
I looked down, avoiding his gaze above me as I bit my lip to keep from crying. "I-I'm really sorry." Was all I mumbled out as he shook his head, moving back to his bed. "I think you should go now." He said, pointing to his door, I just nodded my head quickly, trying to hide the sob that escaped my lips as I made my way out the door.
EDDIE POV
I laid back onto my bed, feeling all my rage and guilt melt together. I hated seeing Y/N cry, and now I was the reason she was crying. I looked around at the state of my room, noticing it was more clean than before which just made the guilt eat at me more.
I got up, hung up my guitar and decided to go try calling Y/N's house, just to make sure she at least got home safe. I dialed the number to which it just went to her family's voicemail, so I tried two more times, but still, no answer.
"Shit!" I exclaimed, harshly slamming the phone into the wall as the last of my rage about the guitar disappeared and I realized all I had said to her. I grabbed my keys, running out to my van before I started down the route to her house.
I made it in record time, jumping out and instantly missing the front door, going around to climb up to her window. I climbed up, harshly knocking as I looked in to see her curled up on top of all her bedding, her shoulders shaking causing my heart to break.
I knocked again, leaning closer to the glass. "Sweetheart? It's me—I'm sorry." I said, hopefully loud enough for her to hear. She slowly sat up, wiping her eyes before coming to open the window. I climbed in, my eyes softening at her disheveled appearance.
I quickly pulled her into me, not being able to stand the sadness on her face. I held her tightly, slightly rocking back and forth as I placed my chin on top of her head. "I'm so-so sorry baby." I whispered, kissing the top of her head. I felt her body slightly shake as she just held tighter onto me.
"No—I'm sorry Eds I know how much your guitar means to you an-" she began but I cut her off by pulling away, quickly cupping her cheeks in my hands. "No, sweetheart, it's alright, accidents happen and you know you mean way more to me than my guitar, I can always get it fixed." I said, rubbing my thumb across her cheek's to wipe away any stray tears.
When she cut her eyes down to the floor my heart dropped a little. "You—You do know that you mean more to me than the guitar, right?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. "Sometimes it doesn't really feel like it." She mumbled, continuing to look down.
I shook my head, tilting her chin up with my fingers so she'd look at me. "You are the single most important thing in my life Y/N/N, I love you so—so much it's insane." I said, leaning in to kiss her. She kissed back, her lips moving in sync with mine as she wrapped her arms around the back of my neck.
I wrapped my arms back around her waist, holding her as tightly as I could, hoping she knew how much she really meant to me before we both pulled away. "How about we go lay down, maybe take a nap." I said, giving her a small smile as I moved her hair out of her face.
"Yea, I'd like that." She said, a small smile overtaking her face. I smiled back, pulling her down onto the bed after me "There's that smile." I said as I wrapped my arms around her so she was laying on my chest. I mindlessly traced patterns on her back as I felt her nuzzle close to me before her breath seemingly evened out, and I was left, laying there once again hoping she knew how much she really meant to me.
"Sweet dreams, sweetheart." I whispered, leaning down to kiss the top of her head.—
A/N: I honestly think Eddie would be really mad if something like this happened, but he'd definitely regret it later.
