Y/N POV

"Move over so I can sit too." I said, pushing Eddie's legs off the small couch. He groaned, sliding over so I could squeeze in beside him. "I don't see why we have to sit this close, I mean you can hear me read over there." I rolled my eyes, "Obviously I can hear you over there, but I want to be beside you."

He playfully rolled his eyes as he slung one arm around me, pulling me impossibly closer to him before grabbing back onto the edge of the book. "Chapter 12" He started as I leaned my head over on his chest.

I watched intently as Eddie quickly changed face expressions and voices to fit how he thought each character would be in that scene as he continued reading the last chapter of The Fellowship of the Ring, also known as Volume I to the Lord of the Rings series.

These books were Eddie's absolute favorite, his uncle gave them to him for his 12th birthday—right after he moved in because he figured since Frodo had to live with his uncle too, maybe Eddie wouldn't feel so bad about getting separated from his parents, and it was no secret that the boy loved fantasy.

I had always admired Wayne for his attempts at making Eddie the most comfortable he could—even when the situation itself wasn't a very comfortable one to be put in. But, ever since his 12th birthday Eddie has cherished these books, and recently he suggested we read them together.

Of course I took up the offer—I mean Eddie was the best Dungeon Master I ever had, so I knew watching him narrate the books would be just as good. I watched Eddie's lips curl up into a smile as he read a part he was particularly fond of, and I couldn't stop the smile from spreading on my own face.

I eventually tore my eyes away from him, leaning my head back down on his chest, feeling the vibrations of him speak as he continued.

Eventually, the book was done and it was time to start The Two Towers, or volume II to the Lord of the Rings series. "Hey, why don't we start the next one tomorrow, it's getting pretty late—and we haven't even eaten dinner." Eddie mumbled, leaning his head down to place a kiss on the top of my head.

I turned to look up at him, smiling as he leaned down to press a kiss to my lips this time before tightening his arms around me, "Yea you're right, what do you want?" I asked him.

"How about we go to that diner, you know the one right outside of the city limits—the one that has the old jukebox." I let out a small laugh, nodding my head, "That sounds perfect." I said, before peeling Eddie's arms from around me and standing up.

I closed my eyes, stretching my arms up in the air after sitting down for so long when I felt Eddie wrap his arms around my waist, pulling me slightly off the ground as he nuzzled his face into my hair.

"Eddie, put me down!" I slightly shouted, hitting at his arms. He let out a breathy laugh, setting me back on the ground, "Did you use my conditioner—your hair smells exactly like mine." He stated.

I shrugged, biting my lip to hide the smile on my face, "Maybe I would stop using your conditioner if you stopped buying one that smelt like strawberries." He shook his head, laughing, "I will never stop buying my strawberry conditioner." He said while walking back to his room to grab the keys to his van.

We quickly made it out of the house and into his van before starting off towards the diner. I leaned in, turning up the radio to hear Rainbow in the Dark by Dio playing. I let out an excited squeal, cranking the radio up as this was one of my—our favorite songs.

Eddie looked over at me, slightly bopping his head as we both sang along to all the parts, Eddie randomly hitting his hand in the air to imitate any parts including the drums while I played the best air guitar solo in the history of air guitar solos.

The song came to an end right as we pulled into the diner before we both got out of the van and walked up to the entrance. Eddie quickly pushed in front of me, running to the door so he could hold it open. He pulled it open, dramatically bowing towards the entrance, "Lady Galadriel." He joked, mentioning the name we came up with for my first DND character when we were around 13.

I jokingly curtsied back before we both walked into the diner, sitting at the back booth we always sat at. The waitress walked up to us, greeting us with a smile and asking what we would like to order. Eddie and I both ordered the same sugary stack of pancakes we always did, along with water—for balance, as Eddie always claimed.

"Are you staying the night?" Eddie questioned, stuffing a fork-full of his food into his mouth. I laughed at how full his mouth looked before nodding my head, "Yea—I mean if that's ok." He rolled his eyes, "Of course it's ok."

We both continued eating our food in silence, listening to whatever random song played over the old jukebox before I got an idea. "Oh my god Eds—please tell me you have a quarter." I begged.

He furrowed his eyebrows, digging around in his pocket before throwing one onto the table in my direction. "Have at it, but I don't think they'll have any of the music we like on there sweetheart." I just smiled back at him before popping out of the seat and walking over to it.

I searched through the old songs before finding the one I had been looking for. The previous song playing faded out before Eddie my Love by The Chordettes started playing over the speakers. I looked over at Eddie, a stupid grin breaking out on my face as he rolled his eyes.

I made my way back over to him, sliding in the booth beside him and placing my head on his shoulder, looking up at him before dramatically yet quietly singing the song to him, "You're so cheesy." He mumbled, pushing my head off his shoulder as the song came to an end.

I laughed before moving back to my side of the table as we finished eating our food. Eddie went up and paid for our meal while I left a tip for the waitress before we went back out to his van and started back to his house.

Once we made it to his house, we both made our way inside and to his bedroom. He fell down onto his bed, stretching his arms behind his head before I plopped down practically on top of him. He let out a playful groan as he slid me more beside him.

I laid my head down, moving it up slightly to look at him. He looked back at me, smiling, "You're so pretty sweetheart." I tightly shut my eyes, hiding my face more into his chest, feeling it rumble as he laughed.

"Stop hiding, I like seeing your cheeks turn all pink." He said, pulling my face up so he could look at me. I smiled once my eyes met his as he leaned in to kiss me, "You taste like whip cream and chocolate chips." I mumbled once we both pulled away.

He nodded his head laughing, "Yea, so do you." I let out a small chuckle back as we slipped into a peaceful silence. I shifted my position a little, edging myself closer to Eddie as he started playing with my hair.

"After we wake up we can spend all day reading." He tiredly mumbled. I nodded back, "That sounds good." I said, letting out a yawn. He pulled me tighter into him, "Go to sleep baby." He whispered, kissing the top of my head as I drifted off to sleep.
