Meeting Steve Harrington (X Reader)

Its 1986, a whole new year, a new me, kinda. Im searching for a job which has been more than fun as no where wants someone that done awful at school. Im still with Steve, and ive never been happier. He still has his stupid job at the video place somehow and is still friends with the kids. Max hasn't been great, neither has mum, we had to move after Billy passed and school has been difficult for Max now that she is in high school. 

"You're worried about a pep rally? you expect me to believe that?" Steve shouts back at Robin as he drives us to the school so we can watch her perform in band one last time. "We both know this is about vickie" I roll my eyes "Steve stop", "You need to be yourself!" he shouts back at her.

"Vickie is not the wrong girl, she returned fast times passed at 53 minutes and 5 second!" I start to chuckle as I know where this is going. "Do you know who pauses at 53 minutes and 5 seconds? people that like boobies Robin!!" I sit laughing at him "Ew gross don't say boobies" Robin cringes at the back of the car.

"Its not a big deal I like boobies" I turn around to Robin "Can confirm that" she frowns at me in disgust "You like boobies too robin!" I shake my head laughing. "Its boobies" he shrugs saying it one more time before we pull up. 

"Come on" Steve takes hold of my hand as we make our way to the gym and find a seat behind Robin. "Can you see Max anywhere" I scan the room for my sister "Yea she's with the guys" Steve points over, I give her a smile but she sits herself down with no smile back. 

I block out all sounds as I hear the speech start prior to the game, knowing Billy was going to be mentioned. "We do this for Billy" I hear it mumble and feel Steve put an arm around me "im fine" I smile at him, im not, I miss my brother so much.

Its the next morning, I wake up and leave my room, noticing loads of flashing lights outside "what the-" I open the blinds and im met with polices cares everywhere, reporters, paramedics, what is going on. I throw on a jumper and head out. "Whats happened?" I ask Max who is already outside. "Someone died, or got killed, in the trailer opposite" she points.

"God that's so creepy, come on come inside" I push her back inside the trailer and lock our door, the phone rings causing the two of us to jump. "Jesus".

*Steves POV*

"Im gunna put the TV on" Robin clicks the remote and the news channel is on. "We're in the Forest Hills trailer park in real Roane County we don't have a lot of details right now but we can confirm that the body of a Hawkins High student was discovered early this morning". My stomach drops to a pit.

"Shit!" I grab the phone dealing for y/n. "What, what is it?" Robin walks over and asks "that's where y/n and Max live, literally right there" I start getting inpatient listening to the ringing. "Come on come on pick up pick up" I shout in a rage, but all of that goes into calm once I hear my girlfriend finally answer the call. 

*Y/n POV*

"Hey" I answer the phone "Woah woah okay what" I take a step back as Steve rambles down the phone "Yes im fine, Max is fine, wait seriously? do they know who? okay keep me updated, I love you" I put the phone down and turn to find Max waiting to know what's going on.

"So?" she follows me to my room "Sooo, a Hawkins High students body was found In their, how spooky" I sit down on my bed. "I saw a girl go in there last night with some guy I haven't seen before" I raise an eyebrow at her.

"Seriously Max" I stand up and grab some clothes "Yea but I didn't think anything of it, how is there a murderer right where we live" she lays down on my bed. "I don't know, but be careful going out okay, stay with friends" I point at her "I will I will" she rolls her eyes and heads back to her bedroom.

"Hey guys" I walk into the store to see Steve and Robin. "Hey!!" Steve walks over and pulls me in for a tight hug. "Been busy?" I ask as I sit on top of the counter "not really, everyone is watching the news" Robin stands opposite me "yea pretty crazy" I jump when I hear the door open "on edge?" Steve asks "No..." I frown at him and turn to see my sister.

"Max? Dustin?" I question and jump down from the counter "What are you doing here I said be careful" I turn to Max "you said stay with friends, I am with one" she points to Dustin. "How many phones do you have?" Dustin quickly changes topic.

"Two why?" he continues to throw his bag over the counter and crawl across it to reach the phone "My tapes no no no!!" Steve shouts as he knocks them all down. "I need Eddie's friends phone numbers!" he demands while typing into the computer. My ears prick at the name, but there's more than one person in this world called Eddie.

"Oh yea your new best friend you think is cooler because he plays nerdy games" Steve becomes jealous "Im sure you're still the favourite" I stand beside Steve taking hold of his hand. "Guys id understand and let you do this if it was a Monday but its Saturday, our busiest day!" Robin says while cleaning up the tapes.

"Max fill them in while I do this" Max turns to us "The girl that was murdered, she was with some guy, Dustin says its his friend Eddie? But I don't know who he is, anyway Dustin knows he didn't do this and needs to find him" I tilt my head at Max. "You're telling me you're looking for a potential murdered?" I snap at my sister "He didn't do it!" Dustin shouts. 

"Guys I might have information!" Max shouts as she hangs up the phone. "Eddie gets his drugs from a guy called reefer rick? and sometimes he crashes there". "Wait, the system lets check the system for a rick and see if he matches any of them, then we have an address!" Robin suggests her great plan and we all stand around the computer watching.

"You know, we could just get out of here and, get to it" Steve whispers in my ear "Steve, I would love that, but my little sister is looking for a potential murderer, I need to say with her" I whisper back "This is going to be a long day", "Hey, you get your reward at the end of it don't you worry" I turn and grin at him "Alright then" he slaps my ass causing me to gasp "What?" Dustin turns around.

"Uh no sorry I thought I saw.. a spider" I scratch my head thinking of a lie "Yea same but it wasn't" Steve helps out "You two are awful liars" Dustin shakes his head and turns back around. "No more" I whisper and playfully slap Steve. "Got it!" Robin shouts.

"2121 Holland Road, that's out by lovers lake, middle of no where" Dustin smiles "Lets go!" we all grab our things and run out to Steves car.

"Holy shit this is so scary" we walk around a dark, abandoned shed with our touches shining around the place. "Just stay close" Steve whispers so I follow closely behind. 

Steve turns his flash light off, grabs an oar and starts hitting some tarp "What are you doing!" Dustin shouts "he might be in here" he continues to hit it "so just take the tarp off!" Dustin points and shakes his head. "If you're so brave you take the tarp off!" Steve snaps back at him "Guys be quiet!" Robin whisper shouts at them.

"I think we spooked him and he ran" Max says, flashing her torch around "Don't worry, Steve can get him with his oar!" Dustin jokes. "considering everyone in this room has died almost a hundred times I don't find this very fu-" 

Suddenly something jumps out of the tarp, grabbing hold of Steve and slamming him into the wall. "Steve!" I shout and run over "wait wait wait wait" Dustin shouts as Steve shouts for help "woah woah woah" Steve shouts as a weapon is held near his throat.

"Eddie Eddie!!" Dustin shouts, finally catching this guys attention "Its me! Dustin!" he shouts, he finally turns his head and looks over at us. "No fucking way", "Oh shit" Max lets slip after me. "What?" Robin asks.
