Meeting Steve Harrington (X Reader)

"Okay you guys wait in the car, I won't be long" Max get out the car and walks up the road towards Ms Kellys house.

"I think I should be with her" I unbuckle my seat belt "No, she will be fine" Steve grabs my arm. I look in the mirror at Max walking away towards the house. "I didn't know she spoke to someone at school" I frown "what do you mean?" Dustin asks

"Like a therapist or whatever, I didn't know she needed that" I turn to Steve "You didn't speak to anyone after?" he tilts his head at me "No, im fine" I smile, but fail to convince the two of them. "Yea alright" Dustin laughs

"what?" I turn and stare at him "'im fine' yet you haven't even been to his grave" he turns to Steve "true and you fell into like a month long depression, I had to wash your hair for you" Steve raises his eyebrow. "... shut up" I shake my head at the two of them. 

"What do we do after this?" Steve asks. "We gotta get into the school, go through the books and see if there's any links" Dustin explains.

"I cant sit here and wait ill be right back" I manage to get out the car before Steve has a chance to stop me. "Y/n" he shouts from his window "ill be back" I shout back and walk down towards the house... I hide away near some trees so I won't be seen, but make sure im in eyes view of windows and doors to make sure Max is okay...

**Steves POV**

"For gods sake" I sit back In my seat watching my girlfriend run off. "She'll be fine she's smart" I look at Dustin raising my eyebrows "okay maybe not smart but there's something in that brain of hers ticking away" I roll my eyes and turn back to see where she's gone. "Of course she goes where we cant see her" I shake my head.

"Are we going to talk about earlier?" Dustin asks with a smile across his face. "what?" I frown at him confused "Eddie... talking about what he's done to y/n basically, he still loves her" I let out a loud sigh and place my hand on the steering wheel. 

"Yea we spoke, she will always care for him some shit like that, but she loves me so" I turn and look at Dustin "what dude" I shout "you're so jealous" he smiles "of what" I slam my hands on the wheel "the fact that there's another dude that wants y/n so badly, and that she was once screwing him too" I push Dustin "Im not jealous... okay maybe a bit but im not worried", "Oh yea don't be worried she wouldn't go back to him she's so involve with you it makes me sick" he pretends to gag and throw up everywhere. 

"Listen I don't wanna talk about it, I'll punch you so hard your teeth will fall back out" I shout and turn to Dustin. "Woah.. too far" his face turns serious "not cool, sorry" I apologise "not cool, its okay" We spud eachother as I finally see Max and y/n running back to the car together.

**Y/N POV**

"What did she say?" Steve asks as we jump in the car "nothing just drive!!!" Max shouts, Steve instantly puts the car into gear and speeds away from the house.

"God, you're a sneaky shit max" I turn and say while out of breath. "Lucas? Lucas!" Dustin shouts down the radio as he responds back. "Thats bullshit" is all I hear from Dustin before we pull up at the school.

"Come on, be quiet" Steve pushes the doors open for us. "Alright Max go" she walks and starts going through files. "Shit" she whispers. "what?" I walk over "Not just Chrissys file, but Freds too" she pulls them out.

"So there's a link..." I look over to Steve. Max starts reading through the files, eventually freezing on the spot for a few seconds. "Max? Max what is it" I start to worry. "Max!" I shout shaking her and she finally wakes up. "Follow me" she says.

I grab my torch alongside Steve and Dustin, and now Robin and Nancy as they make it back to us. "Right here, a grandfather clock" she explains "it was so real... and when I got closer to it I just woke up" she turns and looks at me. "Just like Eddie said Chrissy was..." Dustin adds

"Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Miss Kelly for help" Max says as we go back to her desk with all the files. I sit down opposite her reading through everything, Steve stands directly behind me reading over my shoulder.

"They both had bad headaches that wouldn't go away" I say, still looking down the papers, "then the nightmares, trouble sleeping, the visions and then everything just ended for them..." Max looks up to Steve "Vecnas curse" Robin says with confidence.

"Chrissys headaches started a week ago, Freds, six days ago, ive been having them for five days" I instantly feel Steves hands on the tops of my shoulders "what" I look up at Max "I don't know how long I have, they both died in less than 24 hours after their first vision, and I just saw that goddamn clock so!" She throws her hands up.

"Max stop it you're not dying" I shout at her "It looks like im going to die tomorrow" she says again with a tear rolling down her cheek "Shut up Max no you're not, this isn't happening to you" I stand up throwing my hands down on the desk. 

"Hey" Steve holds my arm but I yank it away "Max!" I shout again "It is y/n im going to die okay, we cant stop this in 24 hours" she shouts back at me "No, we will find a way, we, we can try talk to El" I turn and look at everyone but they all look down at the ground.

"What are you doing" I sit beside Max at Nancys house as she writes on a bunch of paper. "Letters" she says as I watch her write "billy" on the front of an envelope. "Max you're going to be fine" I hold her hand, I turn and see Steve walking down the stairs... back from Nancys bedroom...

Max stands up and passes her letters around. "For you" she has them to Dustin, Steve and Lucas. "Oh and give these to Mike, Will and El" she hands 3 to Lucas. Dustin and Steve start to open them when Max shouts "No don't, that's not for now. Don't open it now" She asks and they nod, placing the letters away. "Its a fail safe, incase we cant fix this".

"woah max no, we will get you out of this" Lucas says, I cant sit and listen to this anymore. I stand up and walk away, outside the house to the garden. "Y/n" I hear Steve call out as he follows me outside. 

"What the hell were you doing" I snap at him as he stands opposite me "what?" he shakes his head at me "why did you think it was okay to go to Nancys bedroom" I shout at him "hey calm down" he goes to take hold of my hand but I pull away "No, no Steve why the hell did you go to her bedroom with her" my heart racing, memories flooding back of Eddie and another girl start taking over my thoughts.

"Jesus Christ y/n we were talking and finding clothes for her and robin" he explains "You know I find it funny how I told you everything about Eddie and made everything as clear as can be for you, but you think its fine to go and be in your ex girlfriends bed room, where you would have sex with her" I raise my voice even louder.

"What the hell y/n, what's going on you know I wouldn't do anything" he shouts back. I start to snap out of this trance like state as I stare at Steve. My heart racing, my breathing increased and my head hurting. 

"Guys come on" Max, Lucas and Dustin come running outside. I follow them and get in the car, with no choice to sit beside Steve. I hear him huff before walking over and getting in beside me. "where are we going" I ask while buckling in "east Hawkins" Max says. My eyes look up at her in the mirror "why Max" I knew it

"I want to go see Billy"
