Meeting Steve Harrington (X Reader)

We all get into this upside down world. its all grey? blue? the ground covered in these things and seem to be like vines. "Steve?" I call out as I hear a scream "Steve" I turn and see him on the floor. I sprint towards him, grabbing a piece of wood on my way.

"Shit" I start hitting these flying creatures off Steve as Robin tries to untie his neck. "Eddie!!" I shout as he turns, hitting another one flying towards us. "Y/n behind you watch out!!" Eddie shouts as I get attacked by one, "Robin!" I shout as she drags it off my back after biting me. 

"Come on" I say out of breath grabbing my wooden stick back up. I turn and see Steve, standing up killing the final one by taking a bite out of it and spitting onto the floor. "Steve oh my god" I drop what's in my hands and walk over to him.

"Jesus Christ twice!!" Eddie shouts, throwing his oar onto the ground "Are you okay?" I ask as I analyse his body "they took about a pound of flesh" he moves his hands near his wounds "shit" I groan.

"Do you know if these bats have like rabies" Robin says "what?" Steve turns "its just that rabies are like, my number one greatest fear" I hold back my laugh.

"Robin we are fine" I say. A loud screaming noise starts to take over as we look up, seeing hundreds of these bats starting to fly in. I turn to see our surroundings "The woods... come on" I grab the hand behind me, thinking its Steve, but im gripping onto Eddie instead.

We all start sprinting into the woods to try and get away from the bats. Trees and vines taking over our view as we get deeper and deeper into it. 

"Under here" Steve grabs my arm, pulling me under a rock. We all crouch down, watching the bats take over the sky. I sit between Eddie and Steve, holding tightly onto both their hands as Robin leans on Eddie. 

"That was close" We all stand up to leave but Steve groans in pain "Steve?" I turn and look at him "im, im fine" he leans against the rock "No, no you're not you're losing a lot of blood, come on it" I hold his hands and sit down opposite him as he continues to groan in pain. 

"Uh" I start to rip up the sweatshirt Steve gave me to wear, I make it into a long strip. "ready?" "yea" he grunts lifting his arms so I can tie it tightly around his wounds. "Sorry" I wince as I pull it around "no that's good" he lets out a groan before placing his arms back down.

"Thanks" he sighs as I finish tying it up. I place my hand on his cheek as we look briefly into each others eyes. "I didn't think you liked water" he smiles "I love you and you got dragged down, I was not staying in that boat" I smile at him.

"So uh this place is like Hawkins but with monsters and nasty shit?" Eddie starts to explore the place. "pretty much, watch out for the vines, its all a hive mind" Robin says "Its all a what?" Eddie freezes 

"you step on a vine you step on a bat you're stepping on Vecan" Steve says. "Shit" Eddie nods before making his way around the vines on the ground. 

"So if this is like Hawkins we can go to the police stations, get guns and grenades and blow these bats up" Robin says "guns sure, grenades no" Steve shakes his head.

"We don't have to go down town to get guns, I have one in my bedroom" I let out a quiet sigh.  "You, y/n y/l/n have a gun" Eddie steps in front of me. "Well when your brother dies and you have to live in a trailer park, you never know okay" I frown.

"For your modesty dude" Eddie takes his jacket off and throws it at Steve. Just as he catches it there's a huge rumble, throwing Robin into Eddie and myself into Steve. He wraps one arm around me, holding me tight as he uses the other to stop himself falling into the rock. 

"Yea so guns seem like a pretty good idea to me" Eddie pants "lets go" Steve turns on a flash light and leads the way for us. 

** Steve POV **

"Uh Eddie" I call out as the girls walk ahead. "Listen uh, thanks for saving my ass back there" I smile at him "shit you saved your own ass man" he replies "shit that was a real Ozzy move you done back there" he says "Ozzy?" I frown at him confused "you took a bite out of that bat? Ozzy Osbourne? bLack Sabbath? he bit a bats head off onstage-"

 I cut him off "I don't know" "Alright doesn't matter, its very metal what you did, that's all im saying" he nods his head at me. 

"Henderson told me you were a badass, I didn't know you were y/n boyfriend though", "wait Henderson said that?" I smile slightly "yea the kid worships you dude, like you have no idea, its kinda annoying to be honest" He shrugs at me 

"I guess I got a little jealous Steve, not just of Henderson..." he says while walking beside me "Yea, uh, y/n told me everything that happened and I-" Eddie swiftly cuts me off "Listen ill always be very jealous of you for getting her but I'll always love her, care about her, but im not going to try get her back. She's made it very clear she loves you and just wants us to remain friends" I smile to myself, looking up and watching y/n walk ahead in her own world, she really is the dream.

"I guess I couldn't accept the fact that Steve Harrington was actually a good dude, you two are great together and you're what she deserves, don't take that for granted, she's a loyal one"

"I run from fear im no hero but that lady, y/l/n, she dove in right after you despite being scared, she jumped straight in, I couldn't sit behind and watch her do that" 

we stop walking for a moment, listening to Eddie talk about her makes me feel some type of way, like maybe she is too good for me, maybe she should be with Eddie, they're so passionate about each other. 

** Y/N POV**

"Robin!" I shout, grabbing hold of her as the world around us starts to shake violently again. I start to run ahead of everyone to get out of the woods "Y/n!" Steve shouts as I hear them all run close behind. "Its there, my place" I point and continue to run towards it.
