"Amaya!!! Sit on the bike!", said Mantu as he saw Amaya and stopped his bike near her. When Amaya ran from the house, Mantu sneaked outside too. While everyone was either busy supporting Sneha or were busy bitching about Amaya, no one noticed Mantu going out of the house. "No I won't Mantu, please leave me alone.", said Amaya as she started walking again. Mantu held Amaya's hand tightly and pulled her towards him. Amaya landed on his chest as her hairs covered her face. "Do you really think I'll leave you alone in this state of mind?", said Mantu as he lovingly tucked all her hairs behind her ear and kissed her forehead. Amaya tried brushing his hand away as she avoided his gaze but instead he placed his finger beneath her chin and raised her face to see her. Tears were falling continuously from her eyes. She looked devastated.
Mantu caressed her face softly as he kissed her fingers. She tightened her grip on his shirt front as he said again, "Sit on the bike Amu." This time she didn't argue and sat on the bike. She placed her head on his back as Mantu tightly wrapped her arms around his waist. He started his bike and made a U-turn. "I will not go back home Mantu.", said Amaya as she saw him taking a U-turn. "I'm not taking you home Amaya, just trust me and wait for 10 mins", said Mantu as he drove to the outskirts of Banaras. Amaya was crying, making his shirt wet completely. She tightened the grip on him more and more. After 15 mins, they reached their destination. Amaya didn't realised until Mantu stopped his bike and parked it. "Mantu....where", said Amaya as Mantu placed his finger on her lips and signalled her to look around.
They reached at a ghat which was on the out-skirts of Banaras which looked magnificent. Mantu held Amaya's hand and started to walk towards the boats. Amaya looked at Ganga maa which made her forgot all the bad memories of today. She firmed the grip on his hand as she looked all around. "This is my favourite ghat...my baba used to bring me here every year on my birthday.", said Mantu as he waved to a person who waved back. "I don't bring my tourists here as I always get sad but from now onwards I'll bring them here because from today I'll remember it as the ghat where I took you for the 1st time and not where baba brought me.", said Mantu as he reached where the boats were. Amaya nodded as she smiled lightly. She wrapped her another arm on his arm more firmly.
Mantu smiled at her as he stepped on the boat and raised his hand to help her step on boat. "Just take two rounds here only, don't go in the city area.", said Mantu to the one who was handling the boat. He nodded. Mantu held her hand and took her to the deck where no one can see them. Amaya was just absorbing the view. She was on a boat in a middle of the Ganga as bells chimed harder and harder. It was the time of afternoon prayer. And she was with her favourite person in this world, her Mantu. She thought that Banaras had no beauty but she was wrong. This view was 100 times better than what she saw in Paris, maybe Mantu's presence made it worth it or maybe the world around them turned beautiful because of the love they shared. Mantu placed his hand on her shoulder when Amaya leaned on his chest.
"This… this is BEAUTIFUL.", said Amaya as she looked at Mantu and mouthed thank you. "Just like you", said Mantu as he turned her towards him and caressed her face, where Sneha slapped her. He touched that part thoroughly, "SORRY, but...", said Mantu as he kissed her cheek where Sneha slapped, a several times. He kissed all over her face except her lips, softly pressing to remove all her pain in one go. Amaya murmured "Mantu" as she came close and held his shirt. She wasn't stopping him. She needed the love, she needed someone to be proud of her, to understand what was she going through and Mantu was there for her. She took a long breath as Mantu touched her forehead with his. "I am so proud of you.", said Mantu as he kissed her forehead again. She burst in tears as she hugged him tightly. Mantu engulfed her in his arms as she cried. He didn't stop her. He wanted her to cry it all. He ran his hand on her back and arms as he tightened his grip. He placed his head on hers as he consoled her. After a few minutes everything was quiet. Just a few sobs here and there. Amaya's phone rang but Amaya was not in her senses to feel anything. Mantu took her phone out of her pocket and he saw Rachita's number flashing on the screen. He raised her chin and she sees the call. She shakes her head in a No and went back to the same position. The call ends.
"Amaya..." "I don't want to talk to anyone. I am not going to that haveli, it is not mine, the people are not mine, I'll not go.", said Amaya as she tightens her grip on him. "Okay don't go home. Fine. But just talk to your di once, what's her mistake haan. Don't forget anything but for her sake atleast talk to her, she must be worried. She always supported you na!", said Mantu as he raised her face and looked in her swollen eyes. Phone rang again and it was again Rachita's. Amaya picked up the call and "Where the heck are you???", shouted Sneha and Amaya hung the call again. "What happened?", said Mantu as Amaya handed him the phone and again came in her previous position. "Mom was again shouting at me. I told you, nothing will change. Nothing.", said Amaya as she dig her head in his chest. The phone rang again. This time Mantu picked it up. He didn't spoke up first. "Hello Amaya where are you? Amu!!", said Rachita and then Mantu spoke up. "Di its me, Mantu. I am with Amaya and she is absolutely fine. I am trying to bring her home.", said Mantu as he caressed Amaya's hair. "Oh thank God Mantu you are with her. I am so relaxed", said Rachita as she heard Amaya shouting, "I'll not go home, I'll never go home. Do you get that." Sneha quickly said, "Is Mantu with Amaya?"
Rachita immediately realised that everyone listened that she said , "Karan sent Mantu to take care of Amaya. Am I right Karan." Karan was clueless but he still replied, "Yes yes, I sent... Mantu… I did. He is Amaya's good friend so he will not let anything bad happen to her." He tried talking to Rachita but Rachita held his hand and signalled him to stay quiet. "Mantu, please bring Amaya back home, I'll not start the pooja without you both, especially Amaya." "Yes di, I am trying. We will come home soon.", said Mantu. "I'll not go home, why don't you listen. I WILL NOT GO HOME.", said Amaya again. "Okay fine we will not go! Will you please calm down Amaya.", said Mantu. Rachita controlled her tears as she said, "Please take care of her.", and she cut the call. Sneha was about to ask but Rachita said, "Come on Jazz, no pooja is happening here....till Amaya is here and I don't care what people think or say as mom you have truly brought us down today as a family. She is crying there and I can't see my sister cry for no reason and that's how a family should work." And with that Rachita went inside her room.
