The next day, Chan waited for Hyunjin at the entrance of their school.

7:46am

Where is he? Don't tell me he'll be late again...

Hyunjin scurried to open his car door as he recklessly attempted to undo his seatbelt, failing a few times in the process.

Shit shit shit... I can't be late...

As soon as he managed to free himself, he ran towards the front doors as fast as he could. As he ran, he saw a blurred figure sitting on a bench next to the entrance.

Chan...?

"Hyunjin?!" Chan exclaimed loud enough for him to hear, "Hurry or we're screwed!"

Hyunjin continued to run, checking the time on his phone.

7:48am

ugh...

As soon as he caught up with Chan, they entered the school and quickly began towards their lockers. He ignored the stares just as he did the day before. Luckily they're were less people due to the emptiness of the halls. But luck ended for the-almost-always-late Hyunjin at that; his first-period teacher was quite strict and would give him detention if he were late.

"We're gonna cut it close today..." Hyunjin said as he was catching his breath.

Chan checked his watch.

7:49am

"We have less than a minute until the bell."

The boys quickly ran to the room shortly down the empty hall, entering their class just as the bell rang. They both let out a sigh of relief before they made their way to their seats.

Chan glanced over to the smiling boy on his left. He raised an eyebrow.

"Got any news?" Chan whispered quietly to Hyunjin, being cautious of the teacher entering the room, "About then meetup? You seem extra happy."

Hyunjin nodded his head up and down with a wide grin in his face.

He glanced around the room. The lesson was about to start.

"I'll tell you later... you free after school?" Hyunjin asked quickly and quietly, hoping to not get yelled at.

Chan shook his head signaling a yes.

"Your house okay?" Hyunjin whispered even quieter.

Chan shook his head in agreement again.

Seungmin's school day went the same again. He sat in back of his classes, constantly kept a low profile, only talked when needed. It was all the same. For the most part at least. There was one large difference.

He couldn't stop thinking. Not just random thoughts though, he always had random thoughts.

He couldn't stop thinking about Hyunjin.

It was nothing serious, but he found it annoying. There was something peculiar to him. Everything that Seungmin had learned about him made him curious. He hated being curious about things.

As he drove home, the thoughts continued.

What exactly did he mean by friends? Are we gonna talk regularly now? He seems much more laidback than I thought. I wonder if things are really okay with his mom...

He shook away the thoughts and turned up his car radio. He rolled down the windows for some fresh air. It was almost April, the air was crisp and the trees were finally gaining their green color again. He took a deep breath. It was soothing.
