Ghost and Rooster

Y/n wakes up around 5:30 am and she gets up and makes breakfast. She texts Phoenix and says "hey girlie! I didn't get no sleep last night, I'm soooo exhausted 😩" 

after about 10 minutes later she replies and says "oh no girl! What's wrong?" Y/n says "well, Roosters mom passed away yesterday and he's not taking it too well. I feel horrible for him 💔 he's staying at my place for awhile" 

Phoenix says "are you serious!? Was it all of a sudden or? I'd you don't mind me asking. How long have you known her?" Y/n says "she got diagnosed with cancer about 5 years ago. I've known her since I was born, my mom died when I was born so I never knew her so Carol took me under her wing like her daughter" 

Phoenix says "I'm so sorry, are y'all going to come in then?" Y/n says "I kinda have to. He's starting to wake up so imma see how he's feeling and that'll depend on if we're coming or not. If I text you and say we're not coming can you tell Maverick please?" She says "of course I will. If y'all need us we will be here ❤️" 

Y/n softly says "Roo" he stirs more and she says "Roo" a but more loudly. He wakes up and says "good morning love" y/n smiles and says "good morning handsome" and kisses him gently.

She says "I'm going to get breakfast started unless we're not going to class today. It's completely up to you" and smiles. He says "we can't miss, but I want to be able to give my 100%" she says "we could go and tell Maverick we will be leaving early. I texted hangman and told him last night so he brought over a casket so we can deal with that now or later when we get home" he says "can we do it later?" 

She says "it's up to you Brad" and smiles. He says "imma try not to think about it" she says "it's not going to be easy, but just know I'm here for you" and grabs his hand.
He says "I'm hungry" and laughs.

She says "I'm getting breakfast right now" and laughs. He says "do you need my help?" She says "if you want to you can" and smiles. 

He says " I'll do the bacon and grits. You do the eggs" she says "yes sir lieutenant Bradshaw" and salutes him and smirks. He laughs and starts cooking the food. About 15 minutes later breakfast is done and they scarf it down. They then get their suits on and head to the base.

They talk all the way going there. Y/n especially tried to cheer him up, which kinda worked.
They walk into the base and Phoenix runs up hugging both of us saying "I'm so sorry y'all. I love y'all" 

Rooster says "thanks Phoenix" they walk into class together and Maverick says "good morning! Today we will be doing a trial run of this mission. They hard deck will be 100ft and flying at 660 knots in 2:30 minutes time"

 Phoenix says "is this possible sir?" He says "it all comes down to how much you put into it. Anything is possible Phoenix" he adds "For today the hard deck is 300 ft, 400 knots at 3:00 minutes time" Rooster and y/n give each other a look.

Maverick continues saying "there will be a mission leader and their wingman. And two other team with their wingman. Time is your greatest enemy. There will be Sams at the top of the peak of the mountain. The Sams protect the skies about but not the valleys below." 

Rooster says "because they know that nobody is stupid enough to fly in the valley" Maverick says "that's exactly what I'm going to teach you. Rooster, for this training session, you are the mission leader. Your wingman is Coyote. Ghost,Phoenix and Bob you will be the last to get there. Hangman your wingman is frostbite. All clear?" They all day "yes sir" and head to the runway go get into the F-18s.

They all strap in and Maverick says "alright Rooster, permission to takeoff is granted."
Rooster says "hangar 1 taking off." And takes off.
Coyote says "hangar 2 ready for takeoff" and takes off.
Phoenix says "hangar 3 ready for takeoff" and takes off.
Payback says "hangar 4 ready for takeoff" and takes off.
y/n says "Hangar 5 ready for takeoff" and takes off.
