"You better be at tonight's event, cause if you don't I'm going to kill you?" I hear my little brother Ewan threaten me while sitting on a chair across from my desk.
"Ewan, I can't show up at tonight's charity event by myself?"
"And wh...
"Are you looking for someone special to show up tonight?" I heard Jeremy ask me when I looked towards the front door for the umpteenth time.
"No," I lied. I've been standing in one spot ever since the party. Each time the doorbell would ring, my eyes would automatically be drawn to it.
"If that's not the case, Then why haven't you moved from in front of this fireplace for a whole hour, Nico?"
"Maybe it's because I would rather not be bothered with making small talk with mom and dad friends."
"I believe it's because you're waiting for a special little lady to walk through the front door, buddy." He replied with a smirk on his face.
"I'm not looking for anyone to show up here tonight," I replied, turning my back towards the door.
"Isn't that the beautiful lady you brought to your mom's charity event standing over by the front door talking to Renjun." I spun around so fast, I almost gave myself whiplash.
"And you say you're not looking for no one special to show up here tonight, that's bullshit," Jeremy says, patting me on my shoulder, then begins walking towards the kitchen. Turning back towards me with a gigantic smile on his face, he blurts out, "I'm glad that someone other than Mina has caught your attention."
Just when I was about to give up on all hope of Kaleah showing up tonight, she walked through the front door looking spectacular in a gorgeous black dress that fit her body perfectly.
