Nico's POV…
“I think that you should tell Kaleah about the night you slept with Sujin.”
“Didn't you and Ewan tell me I would destroy our relationship before it even started if I did confess What I've done? What has happened to make you change your mind about keeping my one night of insanity a secret, Jeremy?”
“I told you that at the time because I thought that it was for the best. Bro, after last week's debacle at your parents, I'm not so sure if that was the right advice to give you.”
“Jeremy, were you afraid that Sujin was going to let it slip that she and I slept together?”
“Weren't you? Every word that came out of her mouth had me on the verge of freaking out, and that's crazy because this situation doesn't even involve me.”
“Yeah, I was terrified.”
After looking towards the staircase, Jeremy turned back to me and whispered, “I think that you should tell Kaleah about your mistake with Sujin before she does.”
“I intended to tell her the night of my grandparents' celebration.”
“Why didn't you?” Jeremy whispered.
“I don't know, man. I think that I was afraid that she wouldn't believe me after the statement Sujin made about how she wished that I was her husband.” I replied in a semi-hushed tone.
“Bro, I can see how you think that would happen. Even if that is a possibility, I still think that it would be better for her to hear it come from you instead of a bitter, jealous, married woman.”
“What are you two down here Whispering about?” Kaleah asked as she and Lani descended the stairs.
“Nothing.” Jeremy with a nervous chuckle.
“Your response doesn't sound like it was nothing,” Lani says to him with her right eye raised.
“We were just talking about the usual guy things. You know the usual cars, football, women.” I half lied.
“I am the only woman you better have on your mind,” Kaleah says, at the same time she wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me close to her.
“You are babe.” I replied, then asked her, “Are you sure Anna and her boyfriend are on the way over here?”
“Yeah, they should be in a few minutes.” She says at the same time her doorbell rang.
“Hello everyone.” Anna cheerfully greets us. She turned towards Lani and Jeremy and said, “My name is Anna Valentino and this is my boyfriend, Rico Caballero.”
“Hello Anna and Rico, my name is Alania Ling and this is my husband, Jeremy Ling.”
“It's a pleasure to meet you, Rico. I'm Nico Hwang Kaleah's man.” I greet him with my right hand stretched out towards him. “Are you guys ready to go?” I asked everyone once we were done introducing ourselves.
“Yeah, we're ready,” Jeremy replied, then he and Lani began to walk towards the front door ahead of the rest of us. We all hopped into Jeremy's 2023 Cobalt Blue Jaguar F-Pace.
“What movie are we going to watch?” Anna asked as we drove away from the house.
“We haven't decided between Transformers: The Rise Of The Beast, Avatar: Way Of The Water, and Fast X.” Kaleah replied to her question, then asked, “Which one do you and Rico want to watch?”
“Me personally, I want to watch Magic Mike.” Anna cheekily responds.
“Your ass just wants to see half-naked men on the movie screen.” Her boyfriend blurts out.
“Ooh, I wouldn't mind watching Magic…”
“You got your damn Magic Mike right here in this car,” Jeremy says before Lani could finish saying the title of the movie. Kalech and Anna burst out laughing at his response. “The only man who will be parading around you naked is me.” He added when he came to a full Stop at a red light.
“And the same thing goes for you.” I leaned over and whispered in Kaleah ear when the car began to move again. We rode the rest of the way to the movie theater, just talking about life and getting to know Rico.
Time Skip…
“AGH dammit! Can't we ever go somewhere without running into him,” Anna grumbled?
“Running into whom?” I was asking when the fella I met when Kaleah and I went on our first date walked up to us and said, “What a surprise running into you guys here.”
“Just pretend like you didn't see us.” Kaleah abruptly uttered while pulling me towards the ticket booth.
“What movie are you guys about to watch?” The man asked us as he followed close behind us. He was so fucking close that if we came to an abrupt stop, he and the woman he was with would have bumped into me.
“None of your damn business.” Anna rudely replied to his question. “Marcellus, Why don't you and your fiancé pretend like you didn't see us tonight, we'll do the same.”
“I think that it would be fun if we all watched one together…”
“Look, Marcel, I don't want to watch anything with you. Now, please stop following us.” Kaleah angrily spat. The way she talked to him felt like he was more than an old friend who she had a falling out with.
“Excuse me, but what is Kaleah to you?” I finally asked.
“He's the ex-boyfriend my parents mentioned at my birthday party,” Kaleah answered before Marcel could respond.
“Oh, so you're the sorry-ass ex her uncle Shaun was talking about.”
I cringed inwardly and felt guilty at the same time when I heard Anna say, “Yeah, that's him, the sorry, lying, cheating ass ex-boyfriend.”
“I think that you and your companion should watch whatever movie you intended to watch before running into us,” Jeremy says while motioning for us to enter the theater.
“Marcellus, come on before the movie starts.” The woman he had with him yelled at him while forcefully pulling him toward the movie theater across the hall.
“Thank goodness he's gone. Now we can enjoy watching our movie.” Anna blunts out as we all walk into the theater to see the first screening of Transformers: The Rise Of The Beast.
