Dakota's POV

It's been a couple of weeks since my arrival here in Los Angeles. Niall and I still haven't talked about our almost kiss, rather than that he's acting like it didn't happen.

Anyways the month is now October and I need to make a costume for Halloween! I don't like buying costumes from costume stores. I like the fact of knowing it's original and I made it myself with my own ideas. I still don't have an idea of what I'm going to go as, but it'll come to me sooner or later.

The boys were in a different city at the moment performing a small concert. So I really had no one to hangout with.

I need more friends.

Right now, I was tightly wrapped in a blanket. at home in my room, on Twitter. I snuggled in closer to my comforter and looked through my mountain of mentions. Girls have still been hung up on Nakota and I'm starting to get annoyed. I mean as much as I want that to be a reality, it's just reminding me of how he will never feel the same way. I know I'm putting myself down for not even knowing the truth, but I mean really... who would like me?

At the moment I felt like I was being too lazy.

I pushed all thoughts about Niall aside and changed into my workout clothes, grabbed my soccer bag, and headed down stairs. I saw Katlin playing -trying to play- a video game with Caleb. I laughed as she screamed in horror as she watched her player getting killed by a oncoming alien.

"Guys, I'm going to the park. I'll be back in a bit!" I yelled and made my way to the door.

"Dinner's at eight!" I heard Katlin yell back as I closed the door. I went to my car, threw my bag in the boot and drove off to the nearest park.

I've been running for about 30 minutes now, and I reached my seventh mile. I went to the car and got my soccer bag out. I took out my water and gulped a huge sip, and place my earbuds in. Immediately I heard the angelic voice of Ed Sheeran blasting into my ears. Lego House was by far my favorite song by him.

I grabbed my blue Chelsea ball. It's my lucky one, I usually get the most dribbles on it rather than the others.

I don't know why though. I put the ball down and dribbled around the field again. Sadly, I almost tripped and fell. I watched as a girl around my age snickered a laugh.

Well this is embarrassing. I rolled my eyes and she gave me a sour look. The ball kept dribbling on my feet until I was back at my bag. I heard my phone ring and the called ID said "D-Dawg". I laughed at the hilarious contact name for my dad, once again and answered it.

"Hello?" My legs began to burn in sensation, closing my eyes at the feeling.

I loved it.

"Hey, I just got a call from your mother." My dad said. Well that's weird, they usually don't contact each other.

"What's up?" I asked. He took a deep breath and I could sense he was smiling.

"Well... You know how you got your high school back in Edinburgh to sponsor you for any soccer scholarships at Universities?" he remarked, memory of the conference jogged back into my mind. My school really thinks I'm a fantastic soccer player, I mean I'm good but I still don't know why they have to sponsor me. It's kinda cool though.

"Yeah..." I said nervously, I hope at least one uni replied.

"Well , Dakota you got accepted to seven!" He said excitedly. I started squealing and jumping up and down, I probably looked like an idiot but I don't care right now! I got accepted into seven uni's without even applying!

This is ridiculously awesome.

"Are you serious?!" I replied, my mind rolling in circles.

"Yeah. They watched some of the tapes of you playing and your mother said they thought you were a brilliant player!" I still can't believe this!

"Oh my god. This is amazing!" I said out of breath.

"Yeah well, your mother isn't telling us which ones they are because she wants to send you the letters!" He said. I was kinda glad, I wanted it to be a surprise.

"Well I see you later sweet, congrats! Bye, love!" He said hanging up.

I placed my phone back down and started jumping of joy! Once again I was probably embarrassing myself so I stopped. I remember telling my school principle that I would go to any university around the world, so the choices were endless.

My mother wanted me to get into a study in Europe, closer to her, where as my dad wanted me to go to one in the states closer to his side. It's like a tug of war between them.

I was so excited! I immediately started practicing my moves to make me better, if that was possible. I remember when I used to always push myself when I was younger and I was always the first one to be picked on a team in primary school. I always loved the feeling of when the other team would say,"Keep an eye out for number 6, shes got a move that'll blow your mind," or "Make sure to guard Milne, I recon she's the best player on the team!" I'm just so happy to know that all of this pushing and practicing got me this far into my, maybe soon, soccer career. I could even grow up to be like Wayne Rooney or even Alex Morgan!

I pushed my thoughts away and focused on practicing. I juggled the ball swiftly up and down occasionally with my chest. I was on my 87th one until I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I turned around and unplugged my ear buds to be face to face with someone I haven't seen in a long time.
