I sat on her bed, admiring her room. Of course, it wasn't the first time I had come in here but, I never really had the chance to look around it properly. Out of all the things in her room, she had the most books. So like me, she was a bookworm. I got up, walking over to the bookshelf and I stood there, flicking the pages between my fingers. She had books about everything. Math, the science of the world, languages, cultures, and more. Come to think of it, I didn't know the box brought up so many books..

"I'm ready, should we get going?" My thoughts were interrupted and I jumped slightly, turning to look at Y/N. She carried two bags. One full of books. And one full of sunscreen and hats. "No, no, no no no". I said, taking a bag from her and placing it down on the floor. "You are going to relax, ok?" I said, placing my hands on the side of her face. "So, reading a ton of books isn't relaxing, is it?" She said to me, smiling faintly. "You know that's not what I meant, love" I told her, bending down. I took a book from the many ones that she had in the bag and read the front. "The art of living... sounds interesting" I said, placing it in her hand and closing it. "Come on, let's go" I said to her, pushing her to walk to the door. I took her hand, sliding into the fact that she was my girlfriend. We continued walking towards the forest, finally stopping at a clearing in the shade. I lay down, patting my stomach, while looking at Y/N. She smiled, and lay her head on my stomach, smiling. "Y/N, I need to talk to you" I said "I need to sort some stuff out". I felt her head nod on my stomach and I began.

"Do you remember how when you first came up to the maze you remembered it and you told me and Alby that you had been here before?" She nodded again and I continued. "Do you still remember being here before?" I asked her, waiting for her response. "Yeah, I still remember arriving in a maze by the box and living there, but... there was one big thing that was different." She paused. "I remember it was cold, so, so cold. All the time. We had to wear jackets all day and it was still cold then. And my friends, they were all girls. There weren't any boys, except one. I can't remember his name... And grievers didn't exist then. It was shades.. shades." She stopped talking, staring into the distance. And then silence. Her deep breathing letting me know that she was asleep.

Y/N

My eyes closed, and my dreams began. I was in a lab, naked, covered in a mere sheet of paper. I was next to people, many people. Some of them I noticed as my friends... I can't remember their names. Then it went black. I heard myself at first, I was grunting with the effort of whatever I was doing. Then I could see. I was fighting something, something inhuman. It looked like a giant spider with a massive mouth and no eyes. It looked robotic, mechanical and stiff. I was fighting it, but I wasn't in danger. I was being watched as I... trained it. I then watched as the monster-like thing reared up, screeched and bared his claws down into me. I grunted with the pain and I watched as I tried to get it off me while the ones around me scribbled down notes. The thing slashed me again and again but to no avail until I turned around and it scratched me back. Me, now distracted, let the thing scratch me multiple times before it... shut down. I watched as the people left the room, leaving me on the floor, panting and bleeding.
