Newt

I was smiling to myself as I walked back to my hut and I didn't even notice as Frypan came up to me and said my name, until he tapped me on my shoulder. ""Newt... Newt!" he tapped me again and I jumped, coming back into reality. "Dude" he laughed at me "Y/n's got you into a trance hasn't she?" He nudged me and laughed at me again waiting for my answer. "I don't know what you're talking about" I responded almost coldly, still not looking at him. "Umm, Newt I think everyone except you and y/n know it by now. You won't even leave her side" He told me with eyebrows raised. "Nope, still don't know what you're talking about" I told him, completely ignoring his question. "Alright" he said, still laughing as he walked off. I thought to myself about what he had said and you know what though, he was right. I felt a connection to y/n more than the others. I felt warmth and calmness wash over me whenever I was near her and I felt the need to touch her in some way whether it be hugging her or wiping a tear of her cheek. I didn't mind... not one bit.

Y/n

I entered the hut to find a mattress laid down on the floor and a jug of water as well. I looked down at Chuck as he ran and leaped onto the bed snuggling down into the covers. And I admired how, even though he was so young he looked positively at everything even in the darkest of times. "Wait here Chuck, I'm going to do something quickly, ok?" I asked him and he grunted and nodded his head in response sleepily. I walked out of the hut and walked up to the stick tower thingy before climbing to the top and laying down, putting a hand underneath my head to protect the cut on my neck from the wood. I was surprised no one had noticed it yet but I was more relieved than upset as I didn't know how I got it and I didn't want people asking something that I don't know the answer to. As I was laying down looking at the stars I heard a noise behind me but I didn't turn my head or move as I was in my own world. I sensed the person lay beside me, they were so close that I could hear their heavy breathing, in sync with mine. We stayed staring up at the stars until finally they spoke. "I never realized how beautiful the stars were until now" They said and I immediately recognised them as Newt. "They are so beautiful aren't they" I said back to him and he replied saying "Yeah...so beautiful", I turned my head to see he was staring straight at me, smiling warmly. I turned my body to look at him as well and I placed my hand underneath my head like before, smiling back at him. "Couldn't sleep, could you?" I said and he replied "Nope, the same situation with you, I see". I nodded my head while turning myself back to look at the sky and after a few seconds I heard him do the same. After a while I felt my eyes slowly shut and with a calming feeling washing over me, I then fell asleep with a wide smile on my face.
