Falling back - Sequel to Facing Reality

Night surfing

"Where's JJ?" I asked again

"Well he might be working maybe?" Sarah said

"Maybe working? Why don't you know did he not want to see me?"

"Well the thing is JJ has been keeping to himself lately"John b said "Yeah honestly we've barely seen him" Pope added

"What? Why?" I asked

"Well we tried but he alway makes up excuses and I tried to talk to him but he's never here and he doesn't get home till like 4 in the morning" Pope said

I just stood there. This doesn't make any sense.

"Yeah and I told him you were coming when I saw him at the beach earlier but he said you wouldn't want to see him. I really don't know what's up with him lately" John b said

So he knew I was here. My heart sank even more I felt like I was going to cry. But no, I can't not here they'll try to ask me what's wrong.

"I'm sorry Kie he's been a major dick to all of us lately I wouldn't take it personal" Pope said trying to comfort me while wrapping his arm around me. Oh go please not this again I hope he's just trying to be a good friend.

" Okay enough about JJ I'm sure he'll come around now tell me how was boarding school??" Sarah asked

"Honestly pretty boring"

"Oh come something interesting must've happened"Pope said and i shook my head no

"Really? What about your friends? And is there any special guy friend?" John b said with a smile and raised his eyebrows

"Ha ha yeah no the guys there are repulsive"

"Really?!?" Pope asked with a smile

"Yeah?" I said

"Whateverrr alright you guys wanna go for a quick surf and then watch a horror movie?" John B asked.

"Yes! please!" I said and we all got our boards and headed towards the beach in the Twinkie.

There weren't really any waves so I sat on my board in the water and just starred at the ocean.I took in a breath of relief. I really needed this.

"Hey what you thinking about" I heard Sarah ask from behind me
"Nothing really just admiring"

"It is beautiful isn't it" she replied and we started at the ocean together.

"It's not your fault ya know" she said breaking the silence

"What?"

"JJ, it's not your fault he's not hanging with us or being such a dick and not coming here tonight"

I sighed and looked down.

"We were okay when I left I just don't know what happened"

"I'm sure he'll come to his senses soon I mean you guys are best friends.Whatever it is I'm sure it will pass" i nodded and smiled and we head back towards the shore.I'm hope she's right.

"Alright guys theres not really any waves let's head back to my house"John B said

As we all piled in the Twinkie I looked at the beach one more time to admire it. I saw two people walking down the beach. A girl and a guy, the guy looked like JJ from behind. But it couldn't be, he wouldn't be out surfing and having fun with other people when he knows I just got to town. Right? But what if it was him? If it's him who is the girl he was with? I shook the thought from my head. I don't even know if it was him, it probably wasn't i mean he wasn't even carrying JJ's board it was one I've never seen before. My mind is just playing tricks on me because I miss him so much.Whatever it's not him.

We arrived back at the house and John B asked if we wanted to watch a horror movie.We all sat around the living room eating popcorn and pizza and laughing at how dumb this movie was.

I missed this I missed being with my friends.

"We should start a fire and make s'mores!" Sarah suggested

"Yes pleaseee" i said pausing the movie and me and Sarah ran outside the others followed.

We sat around the fire telling stories and eating s'mores.

"oh god if I eat another marshmallow I'm going to throw up" Pope said making us laugh

" Dude you just ate 20 marshmallows straight you're definitely going to throw up" i said laughing.

"Hey Kie can you go see if there's more lighter fluid im almost out and you're the closest" John B asked

I rolled my eyes and got up "Ughh"

"Didn't you miss us so much!" He said laughing

I made my way to the back porch/shed and started looking and that's when I saw it. In the corner was JJs surf board. I wish he was here and I wish he went surfing with us. I wish I could tell him all about boarding school and he could tell me crazy stories that happened while I was gone. I pulled my self from my thoughts again and found the lighter fluid and quickly made my way back to the fire.

"Hey why is JJs board here I thought he was staying at Popes has he been here?" I said getting my hopes up.

"Oh actually he gave that to me he said he got a new one" He replied and my stomach sank

He got a new board. That was him at the beach.

I was in town and JJ was out surfing not having a care in the world.

I was in town and JJ was out with another girl.
