(Narrator's POV)
After arriving in the human realm in Echo Creek, Star led Steven to a cafe where two women were waiting. One with blonde hair with blue streaks and the other with brown hair and a hat.
"Hey Star. What took you so long? And who's this guy?" She asked as Star smiled and kissed the woman on the cheek. And just by that alone, Steven assumed that this was her girlfriend. Or at the very least, a very close friend.
"Janna, this is Steven. Steven, this is my girlfriend Janna and my best friend Jackie. Both of them have been…well people I can rely on after what happened with my ex." Star explained with a sad look on her face which prompted Janna to give her a kiss.
"You mean that Marco guy? I heard what happened and I can't believe he did that. Especially when you two were engaged to be married. The guy sounds like a complete sleaze." Steven said in annoyance as Jackie shook her head.
"Don't remind me. I was who he dated before Star and let me tell you this: Breaking up with Marco was the best choice I've ever made. I'm with someone who makes me happier than he ever did. And as you can see, Star and Janna are happy with each other as well. So Marco can get lost for all any of us care." She said as Janna smiled.
"Took you two long enough to see what a sleaze Marco Diaz is. But enough about him. What's your story, Steven? Where did you come from and did YOU have anyone special before you came?" She asked as Star gave her a look.
"Wow. Right to the point, aren't you?" She asked as Janna winked at her while chuckling.
"Yeah but that's why you love me. Anyway, I don't need to hear the guy's life story or anything. Just the basic stuff, you know? So let's hear it, Steven." She said as Steven simply smiled. A day ago he would have gone off at someone asking about his past but for some reason he felt at ease here. However he still had no intention of talking about the incident that took place. But it seemed Janna wasn't interested in that much detail anyway, so the hybrid seemed to be in the clear.
"Well I come from a town called Beach City. Nice seaside area with a Beach and boardwalk and things like that. As for me having someone special? I did but she's sadly no longer with us. We were engaged but unlike that Marco Diaz guy, she and I stayed loyal to each other….." Steven began to explain until a voice cut him off.
"Excuse me? Who do you think you are, man? What did these 3 tell you about me?" A voice said as Steven, Star, Janna and Jackie looked and saw a brown haired male. And judging by the looks of disgust and annoyance on the faces of Star, Jackie and Janna, this was no doubt Marco Diaz.
"Marco, get lost. After what you did, none of us have shit to say to you. I can't believe I used to think you fucking loved me and cared about me! I can't believe my first real kiss was with you!!!! I can't believe…..I loved you and wanted to call you my husband!!! I should have known! I should have known after seeing how many girls you eyed: Jackie, Kelly, Heckapoo, the list goes on!! All while claiming you cared about me!!" Star snapped tearfully as Marco looked at her.
"Listen, Star. Brittany Wong came onto me. Not the other way around. You know how crazy she is." He said as Janna crossed her arms in disbelief.
"I guess she wasn't so crazy since we caught you on top of her, now was she? Face it, Diaz; You couldn't keep it in your fucking pants. You are and always have been a manwhore!" She snapped as Marco glared at her before shooting a look at Steven.
"And who are you anyway? You Star's new boyfriend? Word of warning: Don't waste your time with her when she's like this." He said as Steven shook his head.
"No. I'm not. But if I was? I'd treat her better than you did. Because from what I can tell? You're a creep, Marco. You give good guys a bad name with the kind of shit you do. I may not have gotten along with Star at first, but she's been nothing but nice since I've been here and I'm glad she has someone who actually loves her. I can tell Janna wouldn't hurt her like you did." The hybrid said as Marco gasped.
"Janna, what the fuck?!? You're dating Star now?!? What, as a "fuck you" to me or something?!?" He exclaimed as Janna rolled her eyes.
"Oh get over yourself, Diaz! I'm with Star because I love her and want to make her happy. And who knows? Maybe one day I'LL be the one putting a ring on her finger and unlike SOME people I'll actually remember what it means and how sacred such a thing is and NOT ruin it by fucking some ex cheerleader tramp!!!" She snapped as Marco went quiet before growling and walking away in anger and frustration.
"Thanks Janna..you too, Steven." Star said as Janna kissed her on the cheek as Steven smiled.
"No problem. Guys like Marco just piss me off. Reminds me of a guy back home who I hated. But that's another story." He said as Jackie smiled.
"Well it's a story you can tell us when you're ready to tell us. But for now? How about we keep enjoying our day?" She said as the 4 of them continued to hang out together.
Yep! Marco's a cheating dick in this story! And don't worry: At some point, Steven WILL put him in his place! When? Well you'll have to wait and see!
