(Narrator's POV)
The next morning, Steven woke up before Eclipsa and smiled after the night before. It was the first time he had been intimate with anyone since the incident happened and it honestly felt good to once again be close to someone.
However, after getting dressed and heading outside the chambers, he was met with an angry Meteora, eyes glowing as she looked to be ready to attack the hybrid.
"You!!! How dare you taint my mother.... Mewni's queen....with your outsider stink!! How dare you!!!! Guards! Have this outsider locked up for the rest of his days!!!!" She yelled as a pair of guards approached Steven, who looked ready to defend himself.
But just before a fight could break out, Eclipsa came out from her chambers, prompting the guards to back off as Meteora calmed down at the sight of her mother.
"Mother....I.....was...." She stuttered as Eclipsa raised a hand to silence her, clearly upset and annoyed at her daughter's outburst. The guards knew this was where their job(mercifully) would end, so they backed off of Steven and allowed Eclipsa to deal whatever reprimand she had for Meteora.
"Silence, daughter. How dare you? I have half a mind to remove you from the New Magical High Commission for this! In fact: You are officially on probation! Any violation will result in your removal! And that means you need to LEAVE STEVEN ALONE! AM I UNDERSTOOD?" The queen snapped, her eyes now glowing as Meteora backed up in fear of her angered mother.
"Yes, mother. I apologize profusely! This will never happen again!" Meteora said quickly before leaving as Eclipsa calmed down and looked at Steven.
"Well. I guess we both have a breaking point, hmm?" Eclipsa said with a smile as Steven smiled back at her just as Star and Heckapoo arrived.
"Everything OK? We just saw Meteora and she looked like she'd seen a ghost. I guess that yelling I heard was you, Eclipsa?" Star said as Eclipsa smiled.
"Let's just say that daughter of mine really should learn that just because she has a high position does NOT mean she has the right to dictate what choices I make or push around anyone she sees as beneath her." She replied as Heckapoo chuckled.
"Oh. You mean how she was even BEFORE she became the head of the New Magic High Commission? I swear I liked her better when she was an infant. At least then her rage was directed at Marco who actually deserved it! Speaking of that jerk, that's why we're here. Apparently he's been harassing Star and Janna in the human realm along with the hussy he cheated on Star with. I'd go myself but I know the limits on what we can and can't do after the thing with Mina. So I was hoping Steven here would lend a hand. Or a fist, if necessary." Heckapoo said as Steven crossed his arms.
"You want me to fight the guy? Yeah he's a sleaze but why go out of the way to start a problem? Let alone a physical one?" He asked.
"Not what we meant. We didn't say you had to fight him. Heckapoo said "if necessary". But he and that tramp Brittany Wong have been tormenting me and Janna, saying all types of things about us. Big deal: I'm dating a girl. So what? What's even worse is how the two of them are getting other people to harass us. It's not a big deal for me, but it's Janna I worry about. She can't just come to Mewni like I can. She says she could care less but still…" Star said in frustration as Steven thought about it and smiled.
"All right. I'll help you out with them." The hybrid said as Star smiled.
"Really? Would you? Thank you, Steven! I….I really owe you one. Me and Janna both do. Especially after how I was when you first came here." She said as she hugged Steven.
"It's fine. Besides……this reminds me of a story someone close to me told me years ago about how she was ridiculed for her love. And I know for a fact that if she was here now, she'd agree that this needs to be settled. Let's go." Steven said as Heckapoo made a portal. After kissing Eclipsa on the cheek, Steven, Star and Heckapoo headed through to deal with Marco and Brittany.
Looks like Marco and Brittany are shooting their mouths off and I bet most of us can guess who Steven meant in his explanation on why he agreed to help Star.
