(Narrator's POV)
"Screw off, Diaz! This is your last warning!" Janna snapped as she was being harassed by not only Marco and Brittany but a group of Brittany's friends from her cheerleading days. And while Janna was doing the best she could to stand her ground, the numbers game was NOT in her favor and she was reaching her limit in terms of tolerance, no matter how much she came off as not caring about what Marco or Brittany say.
"Aw what's wrong, Janna? You had no problem with messing with me back in the day, now it doesn't feel good when it happens to you? You act all cool but you're nothing but a fake. A phony. A wannabe. And you're a thief for swooping in on Star like you did." Marco said as Brittany laughed.
"I don't see what you saw in her, Marco. If she wants to munch rugs, let her." She said as Janna made a fist, ready to go off.
"You talk big because you think you're this big shot now that you've hooked up with the former high school tramp. But you're nothing but the same immature asshole you've always been, Marco." She snapped as the portal opened and out walked Steven, Star and Heckapoo (in her human form).
"What the?!? What are you 3 doing here?!?" Marco exclaimed as Steven looked at Janna.
"You OK?" He asked as Janna nodded.
"I'll be better once they leave me alone." She replied as Steven glared angrily at Marco and Brittany. If there's one thing most knew about Steven, it's that he was slow to anger and normally an amicable person. Which is why it was never a good idea to make him angry.
So Marco was pretty much doing the ONE thing you never want to do when it comes to Steven Universe. Well, no one ever accused him of being a genius.
"Get lost, asshole. This has nothing to do with you. Or do you want to make it have something to do with you?" Marco said, trying to sound intimidating as Steven just looked at him.
"What, you're not actually defending these rug munchers, are you? I don't know what else Star told you about me, but this whole thing is hers and Janna's fa–" Marco began to say until…
(Wham!!!!)
Brittany and everyone else gasped as Steven sent a punch right in Marco's stomach, taking all the air out of him and dropping him to the ground before picking him up and shoving him against a nearby wall.
"Come on. Take your best shot at me. Or do you want to look even worse in front of these girls?" Steven taunted as Marco swung his fist…only for Steven to catch it and counterpunch Marco in the face, breaking his nose!
"Gahhh! My nose!!!!" Marco exclaimed, clutching his now bleeding nose as Steven walked up to him and grabbed him by his collar.
"This is your only warning: Stay away from Star and Janna. Next time I won't be so gentle. If I hear you've called them "rug munchers" again? Or if I hear that any rumors about them have been spread? I'm coming after you, Marco. And you don't want that to happen." The hybrid said in a dark voice as he let go of Marco and shoved him back.
"Let's get outta here!!" Marco exclaimed as he ran away in fear, Brittany and her friends soon behind him as Steven sighed.
"I hate getting like that. But….he pushed me." The hybrid said as Star, Janna and Heckapoo smiled.
"Thanks, Steven. I really appreciate it. We both do." Janna said as Steven smiled.
"No problem. We better get back and let Eclipsa know things are OK. Hopefully Meteora has cooled off by now." The hybrid said.
"You guys go ahead. I'm going to spend some time here with Janna. Thanks again, Steven." Star said as Steven and Heckapoo headed back to Mewni through the portal.
Steven puts Marco in his place! I'll admit: As someone who utterly despises Marco Diaz, this was pure catharsis for me to write!
