Peter could do this, he could do this easily no problem. Just in and out.

But the boys hands began to shake as he listened to the others talk, Crouched outside of a possibly abandoned hydra base.

Yeah, you heard correct, the kid who helped old lady's cross the street had been extremely promoted.

Now Peter was excited at first, he was ecstatic, an opportunity to partake in a real superhero investigation.

But once he realised where they were going, even if it was apparently abandoned, it left a uneasy feeling looming over him. He didn't want the others to know he was scared though, it had been years, he would be fine. And plus no one should be in there.

Bucky was even with them, so Peter had no choice of backing out now, he's sure Bucky went through one hundred percent worse than him and even he had shown up.

This was no time for Peter to be weak, if Bucky could do it so could he. But the unwanted memories were itching at the back of his head as he stared at the large building

"-good, alright then let's go."

Peter turned his head towards Tony as he watched everyone get up, he'd been so lost in thought he didn't even listen to important instructions.

He was already doing a terrible job.

"Alright kid you're with me," Bucky patted Peter on the shoulder as the team stood up, Peter had no clue what was going on but he hurried up to follow after the super soldier.

Peter bit the inside of his cheek as they walked inside, having had to climb over a few fallen trees to reach an entrance. He stuck close to Bucky but tried his best not to make it obvious.

It was clear that this was a bad idea, his heart pounded hard in his rib cage, his legs feeling weak as he walked, his spider sense buzzing from every direction, he hated when it did that.

But Bucky didn't even looked scared, he was just walking kicking Partially burnt documents under his foot, he looked more bored than anything.

Peter took a deep breath, his weary face unable to be seen from under his mask. He had to stop himself from reaching out and grabbing onto Bucky like a scared child when wind blew through the place.

"Peter, you seem slightly distressed-"

Peter physically jumped when Karen started talking, startling Bucky in the process and he quickly apologised.

"I'm fine— I'm fine Karen, please stay quiet," Peter whispered to her quietly shifting uncomfortably under Bucky's gaze, apologising one last time.

He gulped following Bucky down a particularly dark hallway, the debris and foliage outside had started covering the few windows that the place had, causing it to get darker the further they went. Everything was starting to feel a bit too much, everything was arranged differently but it all looked so similar.

The office rooms they walked past were full of smashed computers, stacks of files that had been burned and inked over to make them unreadable, almost like everyone left in a rush.

The place was still hard to find a though, most of the building was just fallen rubble now, and whatever was left was very well camouflaged.

"Okay, you go down there, and I'll check out in here."

Peters day couldn't get any worse when Bucky pointed to a hallway, he couldn't even protest as Bucky was already turning and heading into a different room, leaving Peter behind.
