I stepped out of the elevator walking back towards room 106 with the papers Ms Carter asked me to get for her.
I entered the room, walking towards Ms Carter.
I took a quick glance towards Robert to see what he was doing. He was sitting next to Mr Richards and on his other side was the man who stated that Robert was always fashionably late.
It looked like that was exactly the case! Robert was wearing dark jeans and a blue shirt and to finish it off a black tie. His leather jacket was hanging on his chair and his hair was perfectly gelled. He looked really good!
He then glanced at me and I quickly looked away. I hope he doesn't think that I was staring at him or something.
I handed Ms Carter the papers and she told me to hang on for a moment. She then handed me back some papers. I inspected them and then realized that it was the list of names of the people who were going to audition today. I immediately understood that I was going to have to call them in one by one.
I nodded and walked back over to the bar.
"Is there anyone who would like to drink something?" I asked, directed towards all of them.
They all said what they wanted and I started preparing their drinks while they were talking their business preparing before the auditions that were starting at 9.
I brought them all their drinks. When I stood in front of Robert he looked up at me smiling and gave me a wink. He took the coffee out of my hands, slightly touching my fingers.
I felt myself starting to blush so I quickly turned around and walked back to my spot. I don't blush!
"Emilia, I suspect that most of them must be waiting in the lobby downstairs by now. Could you go get them and open the room next to us? They can all wait there till it's their turn to audition... No wait! Bring them all in here first and kindly explain to them how their audition will be set up? That might help some of them with their nerves and will save us a lot of time."
He then handed me a piece of paper. Explaining what they will have to do today.
"Absolutely sir!"
I really didn't mind doing that. It made me feel like I was in a higher work position for a moment and not just a waitress.
I read the sheet of paper while making my way downstairs to the lobby. I then saw a lot of people sitting there, mumbling to themselves while staring down at some papers.
They must be practicing their lines. I walked up to Lizzy and asked if they were the people for the audition, even though it's quite obvious and she confirmed it.
I walked towards the group of girls and clapped my hands to get their attention.
"Good morning everyone. You must all be here to audition for Mr Richards am I right?"
A few of them answered saying yes and a few just nodded.
"Mr Richards and his team are ready to receive you now. You can all follow me."
I turned around walking to the stairs. They were with too many to take the elevator.
We walked towards the room and I opened the door letting them all pass me by into the room. I heard a few girls gasp and some whispers going around. They must have noticed that Robert was sitting behind the directors' table. I walked to the front of the room standing in front of the table, facing the girls.
I took on a confident pose and started explaining.
"Good morning everyone. I'm sure that a few of you must be dying of the nerves right now, ready to pass out or are about to have an anxiety attack." I said in a serious tone and a few started laughing and I heard Robert chuckle behind me which made me smile.
"But I'm sure that every one of you will do just fine. In just a moment I will guide you all to the room next door where you can wait for your turn. I will be coming to the room calling out your names, one by one. When you enter this room, you will give your resume to Mr Richards, the man sitting behind me on my right. You then take a stand in the middle of the room and briefly tell us who you are and your experience in acting and why you thing you are fit for this role. Keep it short. If the directors and everyone else have no more questions for you to ask, you start with your monologue that you had to prepare. After you finish that you will be screen reading the scene that we send you to study with Mr Downey. After that you can take place at the piano or take the guitar in the corner to sing the jazz number you have chosen to sing for us today. If you don't plan on playing the music yourself but have an instrumental version with you on a USB-stick or some of the sort, you can hand it to me and I'll set it up for you. All you have to do then is give me a queue so I know when to start playing it. After that you are allowed to leave the room and continue on with your day and we'll be contacting you in a week if you're allowed to come back for a second test or not.
Are there any questions you would like to ask me?
No?
Ok then, if you would all follow me please... except for Miss Christina Arons. You're up first!"
I led the other girls to room 107 and quickly walked back, taking my place again behind the bar sitting on a chair. Excitedly waiting for the bad auditions to come!
