I was standing next to Robert when he was buying our movie tickets to see "The best of me". Before we entered the cinema he parked the car and reached over to the glove compartment in front of me, taking out a dark blue baseball hat and some sunglasses and put them on.
"Don't feel like being spotted." He said.
After he received our tickets he turned to me and gave me mine.
"I just winked at you, incase you didn't see it through my glasses."
I started laughing.
"You want to grab a snack or something?" He asked.
"Just a drink will be fine."
We walked out of the food-stop and were heading to room 3 where the movie will be playing. He lead the way up the stairs and sat down in the middle of the theatre. It wasn't very crowded and it was pretty dark in the room already so he took off his sunglasses and put them in his chest pocked. He then turned to me looking kind of worried.
"I must warn you... I'm a real sucker for these kind of movies." He said and then chuckled.
"Really? I just always think that they're kind of ridiculous."
"What? Why would you think that?"
"Well because it's always so dramatic and unrealistic. Stuff like that don't happen in real life."
"But that's not really the point in my opinion."
"What do you mean?" I asked confusedly.
"Well... Life doesn't have to be like a movie to be perfect. At the end of the day, it was just a made up story. I think that you can't find the kind of love like they show you in the movies. I think that we're able to find something even better because then it will be real. It will be ours. It will be something that we've developed by ourselves on our own time with our own obstacles and our own memories and not even the most romantic movie in history can compare to that."
We were quiet for a moment, staring deep in each other's eyes. I suddenly felt lost in that moment. I didn't notice the people around us, that we were in a cinema. For a brief moment it was just him and me. I don't know what came over me but at that moment, I haven't felt so at ease with someone in 11 years.
I slowly snapped out of it sighing and smiling at him.
"Wauw Mr Downey. I had no idea that you were such a romanticist." And winked at him.
He chuckled. "There's a lot you don't know about me.. yet." He said in a low voice.
The movie started playing and we both faced the big screen until it ended.
When the lights turned on I looked at him and saw that he was wiping away a tear and I started laughing hysterically.
"What are you laughing at!? I-it's... it's just a tear from y-yawning!"
"Hahaha! Suuuuree Robert. You're adorable."
I widely opened my eyes in shock, holding a hand on my mouth. Did I just call him adorable?!
He looked quiet shocked at me too but in a happy way. He then chuckled.
"Why thank you miss Kaya but I prefer extremely handsome." He said in a British accent."
I couldn't stop laughing. I finally calmed down and faced him.
"Can you imagine your face being up on such a big screen?" He asked.
"No.. It's seems so unreal to me. All those people will be looking at a huge version of me but that isn't exactly me. What if they'll think that I'm horrible?" I said almost whispering the last part.
"You're amazing." He said in a low voice. I giggled. "Why thank you sir Downey but I prefer extremely incredible." I winked at him and started walking towards the exit. We got in his car and he leaned back over me to put away his hat and glasses.
"You want to get something to eat?" He asked.
"Sure, why not. I always enjoy free food."
We picked up some food from a McDonald's drive through and headed towards my apartment.
I unlocked my door and crashed face down on my couch and closed my eyes. I heard Robert put the food on the coffee table next to me. He lifted up my feet, sat down and placed them on his lap. I didn't mind. I was really comfortable.
"Food's going to get cold you know." He said.
"Jfusft gfifve me a sfecondf." I said with my face still on the couch.
He started laughing. I liked hearing his laugh.
I sat up straight, turned on the TV and we started eating in silence. After we finished eating we continued watching TV and talked about the programs we liked to watch and the things we like and dislike. What we do in our free time and stuff. I really liked talking to him about these random stuff. He's so funny and really made me feel at ease. I enjoyed being around him like this.
It's almost 10 PM and I was getting really tired.
"Do you ever plan on going home?" I asked while yawning and stretching out my arms.
"Why? I like it a lot more here." He said.
"I thought you didn't like my small apartment?"
"I like it HERE as in HERE with YOU." He said in a low, vibrato voice, almost whispering.
I'm normally taken aback when he'd say something like this but not this time. I just thought that he was really sweet. I smiled at him and placed my head on his shoulder. He placed his hand on my knee. We sat there in silence with the TV on low volume and I fell asleep.
