The next morning was far from quiet. It was a race to get enough to eat for breakfast. I noticed that Freckles had latched onto Ciel and helped him get a plate. Ciel didn't seem to find the food appetizing but there wasn't much I could do about that.

"Good morning." I turned to see my father. He held out a plate for me.

"What about you?" I asked.

"I'm fine," he said, "I'm your father. I need to act like one. Your wellbeing comes before my own."

"Thank you," I said, hugging him from the side. He hugged back and when I looked into his eyes, I could see genuine joy. He wasn't as stern and solemn as he had been when we first met.

"I'm going to go find Sebastian," I said.

"Alright, but if anything happens. Anything at all, tell me and I'll take you to stay with the other reapers," Will said.

"I will," I said, "But I trust Sebastian."

"I hope for your sake he is trustworthy."

I shook my head and gave Will another small hug before heading to check on Ciel. I noticed a line of people and peered ahead to see Sebastian serving food. What was it? I noticed Freckles yanking Ciel over beside me.

"What's going on?" she asked.

"I don't know," I said, "I suppose we'll find out at the end of the line. Smile, come here. That knot is terrible." Ciel turned around and let me fix the tie while he held the eyepatch over his eye. When I finished, I offered a hand to Freckles and Ciel. Ciel took my hand and Freckles just stared.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

She just shook her head and then took my hand.

"Good morning, Love," Sebastian said when we reached him.

"Good morning," I said, "What are you up to this time?"

"Simply making fried potatoes" he said, smiling.

"This is new," I said.

Sebastian gave a plate to Ciel, who sighed in relief and ate, then one to Doll, who tried it and was immediately hopping up and down excitedly.

"I had to prevent suspicion after the young master mutilated the potatoes," he said softly.

I nodded and tried it, "Damn you. Is there anything you aren't good at?"

Sebastian chuckled and I stepped out of line and stood behind him so the line could continue moving.

"I talked to Will last night," I said.

"What happened?" Sebastian asked.

"You have to ask for permission to marry me now," I said, smiling evilly.

"Oh dear," Sebastian sighed, "You truly enjoy the subtle cruelties."

"But you love me anyway," I said.

"Yes, I do," he said, kissing the left of my forehead. I leaned on his shoulder as he continued serving the line of performers. I noticed Sebastian and Will exchanging glares. Then I realized Freckles had gotten back in line again.

"What are you doing back here?" I giggled, kneeling down to be face to face.

"They're so good!" she said, "Besides, everyone's been through once, so it's first come first served."

I laughed again and Sebastian gave her more before I shooed her out of line.

"My dear, I don't remember that I've ever asked this question," Sebastian said.
