talent show

Tito's POV

  Marley is my best friend. Marley is my everything. She told me to come to the talent show because she was performing and she was nervous. I made sure to sit in the front so she was sure to see me. I brought my siblings and we watched all the performances. I thought about doing it myself but I get paid to perform, why do it for free? Also I didn't feel like it.

  Finally we were at the last performance. Her performance. The best, hopefully.  The announcer spoke "Marley Brown singing Weak by SWV!" I smiled, it was one of my favorites.

  Everyone started clapping and she came out on stage in a red, barely dress code dress, black pumps, and a black denim jacket. She took the microphone off the stand and our eyes met. She smiled brightly at me and the music played as everyone's cheering calmed down.

   She looked down "this is for my bestfriend..." she brushed her perfectly pressed hair behind her ear, looked back up, and started singing "I don't know what it is that you done did to me" I looked at Jermaine who was looking right back at me "..aint no way she's talking about about me." She kept singing  "but, it's caused me to act in such a crazy way.." she looked at me, it felt like everyone was staring at me.

    "Whatever it is that you do when you do what you do to me" I smiled and watched her continue "It's a feeling that I want to stay." I smiled a little, the chorus is her favorite part.. that smile makes my heart flutter.

  "Cause my heart starts beating triple times with thoughts of loving you on my mind. I can't figure out just what to do when the cause and cure is you ohh. I get so weak in the knees, I can hardly speak. I loose all control and something takes over me. In a daze, your love's so a-ma-zing it's not a phase, I want you to stay with me, by my side, I swallow my pride. Your love is so sweet, it knocks me right off of my feet.  Can't explain boy your loving makes me weak." She was still looking at me

   I smiled and Jermaine smirked at me "you got a little giiiirrrrrlll frieeeennnnndd"
I mushed him in the face and kept watching Marley's performance. She sat on the edge of the stage. We were not even 10 feet away. "Time after time after time I tried to fight it. But, your love is strong it keeps on holding on" I was basically blushing. "Resistance is down when you're around, cries fading. In my position I don't want to be alone..."  the spotlight followed her as she slipped off the stage.

  She fixed her dress as she kept singing "Cause my heart starts beating triple times with thoughts of loving you on my mind." I covered my face as she continued, I couldn't stop smiling, I was happy and embarrased and overwhelmed.

  "I can't figure out just what to do when the cause and cure is youuu. I get so weak in the knees, I can hardly speak. I loose all control and something takes over me.   The music cut. Oh my god she's going a capella?! I'm gonna die, she's doing all of this for me... "I try hard to fight it"she sung "no we cannot deny it. Your love's so sweet, it knocks my off my feet. Oooh I get soo-" the music cut back on.

  She walk over to me and pulled me out of my chair "blood starts racing through my veins.. boy it's something I can't explain." I giggled "Marley-" she hushed me "something 'bout the way you.. the things you do oo oo it-" she fell into my arm and I caught her "-knocks me right off of my feet" everyone started cheering.

  She stood back up and let me sit back down "I can't explain boy, your loving makes me weak" I  got so lost in her sweet smooth syrupy voice. She looked and sounded soo gorgeous.. she is so gorgeous..

  She kept singing "I get so weak in the knees, I can hardly speak. I loose all control and something takes over me.   She hummed as the music faded and everyone yelled and cheered. The house lights turned on and the performers came out and bowed and that was it. She put the mic down and ran over to me. I stood up and we hugged. I spun her around and she smiled "I could die.."

  I was grinning ear to ear. "You was singing about me?" She nodded "uhm.. duh. I am in love with you I couldn't say it so.. I sung it. That's really how I feel.." I smiled and we leaned in, our lips almost touched until Marlon cleared his throat "can we go?" I chuckled "oh yeah. We have a soccer game to go to. Wanna come?" She smiled "of course!"
