my first Christmas

Tito's POV

  I sit downstairs with Marley and stare at the gifts under our tree. "You did this all for me.." she nodded. "Of course I did! It's our first Christmas together and it's your first Christmas. Well at least the first you've had in a very very long time. Go ahead, open your presents.."

  I grabbed the first box and started opening it. It was so magical... I haven't done this in years. I opened it and it was a pair of shoes. I smiled and opened the next gift as she watched me like I was a child. Then I looked at her "Didn't you get yourself something?" She shook her head "I didn't need to. I just wanted to watch you open your gifts. Do you want hot chocolate?" I nodded and kept opening my gifts.

  Marley brought me breakfast and hot cocoa as I opened up my gifts. I just smiled and looked at her, teary-eyed. "Thank you for this, Mar.." I ate my breakfast and she turned on the Charlie Brown Christmas movie. I grabbed the hot chocolate and sipped it as she sat next to me and ate her own breakfast. We watched the movie and sat around until noon and then we got ready to go see Marley's family for Christmas.

  As we were getting dressed, Marley smiled and turned to me "so, how's your first Christmas going?" I smiled "It's going great! I've never seen the Charlie Brown Christmas movie and it was so good! Now, what dish are we bringing to your parents?" She fixed my shirt "Mac and cheese. I made candied yams too since you didn't like my aunt's" I frown "those shits were CRUNCHY and RAW. That was abuse, I almost sued." She giggled and bent over  to fix her panty hoes. "You know she doesn't really cook like that.." I nodded "you know, I've only got an appetite for one thing right now." She smiled "what is it?" I smirked "you." Marley laughed and kissed me "we gotta go soon, you know my family lives out in yeehaw land." I nodded and grabbed her shoes out the closet "I know. I can dream though." I grabbed my own shoes and watched her put her make-up on.

  After she was done, she put her shoes on then, we grabbed the food and left, taking this hour and a half long ride to her momma house. Which was incredibly too damn long.

  We finally made it and walked to the door, knocking on it. Her dad opened the door and smiled "Marley! Hi my beautiful daughter! Hi Toriano." I smiled "hey." We went inside and I went to go put the food down.

  I saw Marley's mother and smiled "Hey Ms. Brown!" She smiled and hugged me "Hey my baby! How are you, Toriano? Nice to see you!" I smiled "I'm good!" She kissed my cheeks "when are you proposing to my daughter?" I shrugged "when do you want me to?" She smiled "tonight!" I smiled (but like this😃)

  "....Oh! Okay! I didn't come prepared to propose.. well I have a ring, I always carry the ring. Just in case I just have the urge. But I don't have a box.." she nodded "Marley will live. I believe in you Tito!" I nodded "okay.." My problem really isn't physical preparations, it's mental preparation.

  I talked with all of Marley's siblings and cousins until they went to say grace and eat. I sat next to Marley's in between her and her mom. I looked at the plate and gulped nervously. Marley looked at me and smiled "hi pudding!" I looked over "hey, sweet cakes." she smiled sweetly and kissed my cheek.

  She leaned on me and I started eating, gaining some confidence back. "Baby, these yams are good. They're actually cooked all the way through." Marley raised her eyebrows and said "oop!" While her mom smacked my arm "Toriano!"I shrugged "I'm just saying.." they giggled and I looked over to Marley nervously before looking back at my food. I'm so nervous, I lost my appetite. That little bit of confidence I had went away as soon as I looked at Marley's father. He glared at me and I just sighed. I just want his attention somewhere other than me. I looked at Marley and pouted a little, whispering to he. "how come your dad doesn't like me?" she shrugged "do you want me to ask?" I shook my head and sighed. "Will you marry me?" she gasped "Do you mind running that back real quick?" I nodded and pulled out the ring "Marley Brown. Will you marry me?" she hugged me and kissed all over my face "Of course I will, Toriano! This is the best gift I could've ever asked for! Oh I love you so much! Yes, yes, a thousand times yes, I'll marry you!" she hugged me and I rubbed her back "You're making a scene.." she nodded "Cuz it's a big deal! We're gonna get married..." I nodded and hugged her "I just want to spend the rest of time with you."
