3 MONTHS LATER...
It had been 3 months since Rob had died and Ashley had taken a short break from flying which helped her grieve and mourn Rob and Samuel.
It was now July and she was returning back to the base. She pulled her truck into the parking space and turned off the engine. It felt weird returning but she knew she couldn't sit around, crying anymore.
She steppednout of the truck and opened the trunk, grabbing her packed bags, and throwing them onto her back as two people stepped out of the door of the building
"You're back!" Goose triumphantly exclaimed as he ran over to the girl, instantly hugging her
"Nick... I can't breathe" Ashley spoke, as the man's embrace grew tighter
"Sorry. I've just missed having you around, that's all." Goose spoke, stepping back from the hug, but keeping his hands on the girl's shoulders
"I've missed you too, Goose" Ashley smiled, before she turned to look at Maverick, "Hey, Mav" She spoke
"Hey" The two embraced, which was the first interaction they had shared
Goose and Maverick helped Ashley with her bags to her room and she began to unpack, placing everything back to how it was before
Ashley changed into her flying overall and headed outside to the hangers where her RIO was with his temporary pilot
"Ashley!" Twister spoke, noticing the girl and rushing over to hug her
"Hey!" She spoke as they met in the middle, hugging each other, "Are you ready to go up in the air?"
"Yeah... but are you ready? Just with every─"
"─Patrick... I'll be fine. I need to move on from everything that happened." Ashley reassured her RIO
"Okay then" Patrick spoke. They climbed into the plane and set off into the air
"Who do we have up in the plane this week, Twister?" A familiar voice spoke through the headset as Ashley flew her plane alongside another one
"Me, dickhead" Ashley spoke, looking to her left to see Tom and Slider in the other plane
