Prologue
Styx Syruis was busy playing with his pen when her secretary rushed into her room. There was a smile on his lips as he realised the news brought by her secretary. He's patiently waiting for her to talk and looking at her with a stern face.
"Sir, Mr. Antonio Xedler passed away last month, and they tried to hide it, but our team was able to know the news." His face remained blank while waiting for more information from her secretary.
"I—I already talked to our lawyer and—"
"Has he already transferred the shares to me?" he asked in monotone. His secretary bowed her head, and her knees started to tremble in fear. She knew that once she spilled unpleasant information to her boss, he would lash out and fire her.
"N-No, sir. His daughter will—"
Her secretary was cut off when someone opened the door, which created a noise inside the room. Mr. Styx Syruis slowly tilted his head to look at the person who had the audacity to interrupt the important conversation, but he got halted when he saw a woman wearing a red dress that was fitted to her body and emphasised her curves.
His jaw dropped, and the strength he had earlier vanished instantly. He tried to blink his eyes twice, only to realise that his mind was not fooling him.
"It's rude to stare, Mr. Styx Syruis," the woman said while smirking. His heart immediately recognised the voice of that girl, and it hammered inside him.
"Mr. Syruis, she is Mr. Xedler's daughter. She will take over the position of her father," her secretary muttered as she held the table for support.
"My name is Zyxhiaxy Xedler, and from now on, I will reign over this company."
And from that moment on, their gazes didn't leave each other. While Styx was wondering how this woman made it standing inside his office now after being announced as dead, Zyxhiaxy was cursing him and killing him in her mind.
