today is the day.

changbin's birthday that is. 

and there was nothing to describe how thrilled he is, to be able to celebrate his year of finally being a legal adult. able to have the freedom and independence, to rely less on his parents.

changbin couldn't wait any longer, to celebrate his birthday with his friends. with his parents, and most importantly, with jisung. the one person he loves and treasures, the one person he is the closest to.

"changbin!" was the sound of felix's voice, this making changbin turn around, only to be ambushed by his sudden back hug. "happy birthday! you're finally 18!" 

"felix!" changbin groaned. "that's too tight!"

felix chuckled and finally released his tight grip from him. "sorry, i'm just so excited for you! here, my present." he smiled widely, soon handing changbin over his present.

only thankfully taking it from him, changbin smiled in nothing but pure excitement. "thank you! i can't wait to open it." he chuckled.

"open it! open it!" felix excitedly pleaded, unable to keep his thrill in.

changbin complied to his request, taking the chance to open it in front of him. it wasn't until his eyes widened in shock, completely taken aback from what felix had gifted him. "oh my gosh, felix!" changbin exclaimed.

"do you like it?" he smiled. 

"i love it! i've always wanted to get a new xbox game!" changbin beamed in extreme happiness, before looking at felix with glittery eyes. "thank you!" 

felix smiled in response, happy that changbin liked his present. the two males were soon interrupted by the sounds of other voices approaching them, changbin only helplessly ambushed by more of his friends. "changbin, happy birthday!"

it was the sound of both chan and hyunjin's voices, who only crowded around changbin. "here's our presents for you." they said, also handing him their presents.

only smiling widely at the both of them, changbin gladly took it from them. "thank you, you guys!" he excitedly squealed.

"also, all 4 of us are gonna go to the karaoke after school and celebrate together!" felix suggested, making chan and hyunjin smile in excitement.

"wait, is he gonna fine with that?" hyunjin then asked in sudden realisation, soon turning around to face changbin moments later. "you know... when you came home purposely late last night. was he angry?"

upon hearing his question, everyone curiously then turned around to changbin, anticipating for his answer. "did he ground you? or ban you from hanging out with us?" chan added on.

this made changbin reminisce back to when he'd purposely came home late last night, the arguments he had with jisung. but most importantly, when they had made up and reconciled, resulting in jisung promising that he would be less controlling from now on.

only smiling reassuringly at them, changbin then shook his head. "well, he did get angry and we did end up having an argument over it. but don't worry! we made up afterwards and he promised me he'd be less controlling!" he exclaimed.
