"Hey lace." He tried to grin.
"You look very beautiful." He leaned it; she could smell is rat ass breath.
She slightly leaned back to get his breath away from her face.
"Heyy jake. What's up?" She tried to play it cool and friendly, as she removed his hand from her waist.
"What was that for?" Clearly he was butt hurt.
"Uh I'm not comfortable with you putting your hand on my waist?" She thought it was a trick question.
"God- I thought you were easy."
Then her heart sunk again and she felt the alcohol up in her throat.
"What- it's not like you have a boyfriend anymore, what's the problem."
Jakes face seemed like he was so eger to get somewhere with Lacy; but she knew what he wanted and it make her feel sick; she couldn't move.
Then suddenly his scoffed face turned a little frightened as he looked past the small girls shoulder.
Confused, Lacey looked back and saw one pissed off Calum.
This time she noticed his hand tattoos more than ever as his hand gripped on a beer bottle. His hair was done like the same as always but this time he had black dress pants on on with boots, just like Luke and a plain black tee-shirt that defined his biceps.
He stared Jake down like he was going to kill him.
"Can we help you?" He flashed a passive aggressive smile as he threw an arm around Lacey's waist and slightly pulled her in close.
Jake looked at Lacey then at Calum then at Lacey again like he was baffled by existence.
Lacey was also completely baffled. What the fuck is he doing. But she just stood still and played along so she placed her arm around his waist and sort of followed that pathetic 'I need to cling on a man' act.
"Uh sorry- I though. It's just that-" Jake was tripping in his sentences.
"Get the fuck out." Calum stopped his rambling.
Lacey's stomach was slowly filling up with butter flies.
The boy did what he was told; he looked like someone threatened to kill his family.
That felt good.
As he left their vision they both awkwardly let go of each other and looked down at their feet or away from each of their eyes- trying to avoid eye contact.
"I don't know what I'd do without you calum hood." Lacey broke the silence and glared a smile.
Calum got caught in her eyes and smiled back at her.
"Uh thanks for making it!" He opened his arms wide like a welcome sign.
"No worries! Thanks for inviting me! Although I thought I wasn't going to because Michael cannot drive for his fucking life. I swear he thought we were in GTA." Lacey chuckled at her own joke.
"Yeah we don't really let him drive to be honest." He chuckled as he looked back at his feet.
They both signed in some sort of relief in sync.
"So where's your secret admirer?" Lacey raised he eye brows.
Knowing exactly what she was referring too, Calum nodded his head past Lacey's shoulder to reveal a short blond chick with straight hair and one strip of pink on the front of her fringe. She wore a tight night gown dress and pretended not to look at Calum when the pair looked back to see what she was doing.
Calum rolled his eyes. Lacy could tell he was sick and tired of Angie trying to him up with any of her obnoxious friends; he didn't want any part of it.
Lacey couldn't help but let out a yelp.
"What is so funny?" Cal crossed his arms as he raised his eyebrows; also trying not to laugh.
"You know what, I can actually see you guys with a picket fence and everything."
"I will tell Luke you really didn't wanna see angie."
"You wouldn't dare."
"Oh you don't know me, Lace."
Her heart skipped a beat as she never heard him call her Lace before- her stomach churned and-
Then suddenly the door nob opened and everyone let out one large "SURPRISE" which Calum and Lacey missed.
Angie put her hands over her mouth and suddenly kissed and hugged the fuck out of Luke who had a large smile plastered on his face like he was so proud on pulling this off.
Both Lacey and Calum stood there, eyeing each other knowing they had to go greet Angie involuntarily.
"I'm going to go for a smoke; wanna tag?" Calum cleared his throat and stepped closer towards the girl.
"Yep. Let me just say hi to Angie- aren't you?" Lacey rolled her eyes because she knew Angie was going to drain her soul the minute she opens her mouth.
Calum's shook his head like an annoyed toddler.
"Not enough drinks in yet." He let out a smirk as he took a swing of beer once again; his biceps more defined than ever.
"You know where to find me."
"Actually I don't-" but Calum already vanished from yeh crowd. Lacey shook her head and let out a small sigh like she was tired of Calum's mysterious aura- but goddamn it, she never stopped thinking about it.
As Lacey finished her welcomings to the loud Angie, she figured she'd make her way to the kitchen to down another shot of vodka is she was going to survive the night.
