"No Mrs white, our bacon rolls are not gluten free." Mia said with the greatest urge to roll her eyes.

It was hour two on her five hour shift at the local cafe, Lily's Tree, and she had a migraine. It didn't help that her primary school teacher kept asking if products like bread rolls were gluten free. She hated working this stupid summer job. Yes, working is the way of life, but she didn't even ask to be born- so how is this all fair?

Cleaning the coffee machine with a rugged tea towel, burned coffee filling up her nose, Mia groaned internally as Mrs White then opted for the most complicated coffee order in all of world history. A decaf mocha hot chocolate with oat milk? Seriously, grow up.

Without knowing, Mia was frowning very visibly as she started Mrs Whites disgusting order; feeling like she could sleep for ten thousand years more- her eyes dry and filled with bags.

She was the only one at the front of the brightly lit cafe, as Tuesday afternoons were not busy at all- the only thing occupying her mind was Mrs White and the faint elevator music her manager demanded to be played on every shift- which sounded like Hogwarts Music.

Finally delivering Mrs Whites order, the cup placed on a cracked yellow dish, Mia sighed as she headed back behind the counter, throwing the tea towel on the top of the coffee machine, massaging the bridge of her nose.

"Mia, you need to talk to her." A voice advised on the other side of the counter.

Mia scratched her head vigorously with a deep frown and a grown as she looked to the direction the voice was coming from; with a sigh.

Matt had his shoulders over his half-finished toastie that Mia now made for him every Tuesdays. Mia doesn't cook. But toasties she can do. She would eat them for all three meals of the day if she could- but obviously her Korean mother wouldn't be too fond of that- maybe her Aussie dad, though.

"No, I don't." Mia retorted back as she put her arms on the bench, now facing Matt who had his black hair frazzled in all directions, his glasses crooked. "She's the one that needs to say sorry, not me."

"I told you the shit she said to me!"

Matt smacked his lips, like he already claimed some sort of defeat.

"But you can't ignore her forever, she's your friend." Matt said as he shook his head and tilted his head to the side. It was really hard trying to convince Mia of something, and being her boyfriend only makes it harder. "You said shit too." Matt bit his lip the moment the sentence came out of his mouth as he saw his girlfriend opposite him straighten up tense muscles.

"I didn't say shit! I told her the truth! That her little band boyfriend is just using her like Oliver did." Mia spat with her jaw tightened.

"And now she'd driven Eli away- do you see him anywhere?!" Mia grunted to make her sentence short as she snatched the towel from the tap and stomped around towards the only occupied table of the cafe- attending Mrs Whites needs once again.

Matt opened his mouth, however clamped it back shut as he licked his bottom lip- not sure on how to retaliate with that answer. It was hard for him as two close people in his group; his girlfriend and her best friend hate each other with both opposite views; with black and white explanations. He understood Mia's concerns, but felt like she could of dealt with it more softly instead of denying Lacey about her feelings. But Matt felt like it was too early on in their relationship for him to comment on what she should of done instead.

And his mate was also involved. He slightly kicked himself for not knowing about Eli's crush before hand, however there wasn't much he could do when he hadn't answered his phone or his door in the past couple of weeks. Of course, no one likes rejection- but this probably wasn't easy on Lacey either; loosing two friends at the same time. He also didn't know Calum very well to make any judgments about his intentions so his thoughts were all over the place.
