Somewhere, somehow, Lacey managed to divert the morning conversation with Calum back to his acoustic guitar in his lap. Why she did it, it was a mystery to her. No clear reason was predominant in her mind.. she just did.

But twenty minutes later and she is somehow holding Calum's acoustic guitar, cradling the neck of the guitar in her palm and her other hand supporting the base of it. She felt cool, but in reality.. she was so out of tune. She definitely wasn't one of the Hemmings' that was musically 'inclined'.

"This finger goes there.. and this one here." Calum attempted to explain to the girl, this time he was relatively closer to the girl, sitting facing her.

Lacey made sure to look down do she didn't stare at his chest. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't as when she'd look up her eyes would immediately meet his deep brown ones. Some reason she showed a lot of calmness, but her stomach was tickling in reality. Maybe because her little crush is growing just a little. Wait- no.. it's not a fucking crush.. she just thinks he's hot. That's normal. You'd be stupid if you didn't. Then why did her heart race a little when he touched the tips of her finger tips to move to the correct cord?

Snap out of it.

He had such soft fingers. Shut the fuck up.

As Calum set Lacey's fingers in the correct arrangement for a G minor she attempted to strum it, but her nails got caught between the strings; and a loud off tune note was played.

"Fuck." Lacey whispered to herself, not meant for Calum to hear- but of course he did anyway and his eyes grew smaller, wrinkles in the corner of them as his mouth caved into a tiny small chuckle. Lacey caught that look and she couldn't help but mirror his expression. He was so.. she didn't fucking know. Best not to finish that sentence.

"You're supposed to gently strum it, not break it- lace."

There he goes again. Lace. Her nickname that only her brother and friends call her- she kept dwelling on it each time he let it slip out- why was she feeling this way over a stupid fucking name. It's probably because this is the first boy that Lacey met where he wasn't a complete dick; so any sign of kindness tingled in her stomach- nothing special with Calum himself.

Calum, evidently seeing Lacey's frustration on failing the ability to strum the strings gently, suddenly lifted himself from his position from facing her to hovering behind her. He managed to drag his stool right behind the girl and spread his legs so he would be closer to Lacey. Not just so he could be closer to Lacey, no, so he could reach the strings of the guitar also while the girl was in between him and the guitar.

Lacey, too focused on the strings, didn't realise Calum was right behind her until he softly grabbed her hand that was hovering over the strings. As soon as their skin touched once more, Lacey's insides dropped even more. Maybe because she's getting more psychical touch by her brothers cute friend. She felt his bare biceps against her back, usually she's freak the fuck out, but.. expect disappointment and you won't get disappointed. He didn't do this because he was attracted to Lacey- he was just giving his mates little sister a favour. The thought of that dwelled on her mind.

She could feel Calum's breathing over her shoulder as he slowly guided her hand through the strings, this time the note was smoother and softer.

Lacey smiled as the note played.

"There you go." Calum removed his hand from hers and placed the hand on his right thigh with a satisfied smirk.

His voice was soft and smooth as well. She turned slightly to face the boy as she looked the grip on the guitar. She met him with his messy bed hair curls and his dimples pressed against his cheeks. She studied his face more closely than before. Fuck he's cute. Stop it. Why she was trying to push down her feelings was obvious. The answer is Luke, if you were stupid. Anyway, those feelings where common with anyone- it'll go away.

He's just cute. And sweet.. charismatic..
thoughtful..beautiful- shut the fuck up.

She smiled proudly at the boy because she didn't fuck up the note. She swear Calum darted his eyes to her lips for a quick second; she was just probably imagining it.

"That'll be 50 bucks." Calum tilted his head with a smug grin from ear to ear.

The girl rolled her eyes at his sarcasm and failed to hold in a slight chuckle. As she did, Calum didn't let go of her eyes and she didn't let go of his. It was weird having an ongoing conversation with Calum, she was impressed she could hold one with him as he's the type of person to only give short answers- not really be emotionally vulnerable. He was also really really quiet. She can't even imagine him in an intimate relationship- but Lacey guessed his ex took advantage of that reserved side of Cal, what a fucking bitch.

The seconds felt like hours. Everything sat so so so still. Except for the part where the front door rattled open.

Lacey and Calum jumped back in their seats; the space between them growing as they turned their head to the noise. Micheal was half naked with only a fucking towel around his waist- his red hair burning bright and Ashton with his scruffy hair up to his chin and spider-man pj pants and a black top. They were also both bare foot.

This can't be real.

She was gonna burst with giggles but of course put her absolute might to hold it in with her hand covering his mouth.

"Ashton broke the fucking shower head." The red head sternly pointed at the boy right next to him who looked at him like he was talking another language.

"You got rid of all the hot water! You were in there for fucking 40 minuets!" Ashton grew his eyes wide.

"I had to wash off the dye on my forehead!" Michael looked back at the half awake boy with annoyance.

Lacey glanced at Calum who stared back at the pair with a stern; clearly irritated face. The face screamed 'I swear to god I will kill them'.

You'd wonder if the boys ran through the streets like this- nope. They rented a town house right next to Calum, of course Calum hated and resented how they'd barge into his house when the two old married couple couldn't settle on something. Bunch of fucking toddlers.

As the two boys in the door way caught their breaths and noticed Lacey next to Calum, they both stood up straight as if caught off guard.

"Oh- hey babe!" Micheal struck a sheepish grin at Lacey as he tried to lean on the door way to seem calm and collected; natural even. Didn't work though.

Ashton let out a grown and a little wave towards the girl,  as if ashamed she caught them like this.

What a sight to see in the morning.
