Do I look at him? No. How could I? But if I don't, won't that make me weak? Ignore him? Shout at him? Send a fist into his jaw?
So many options yet none of them seemed like the correct answer. I needed more information. I needed to read the room before I knew how to respond to this very unfortunate situation. So. I looked at him.
When our eyes meant I used every bit of sanity I had left to read his emotions. He looked relaxed, entirely unfazed by everything. At first that gave me a slight glint of hope.
Maybe he doesn't remember. In a fraction of a second he used the sharp heel of his shoe to smear that slight hope into the cold wood floors. He smiled. This cocksucker actually smiled at me.
Suddenly punching him in the jaw seemed like the best line of action. He turned his back to me, letting his shoes click against the floor.
He wrapped his fingers around the top of a chair all the way at the other end of the table where another plate of sushi was. I should've known. I should've used my brain to make the simple connection on why there was a plate positioned at his side of the table.
I couldn't predict his actions. No matter how hard I tried I was always wrong. Instead of sitting down he began to drag the chair behind him, heading for my side of the table.
The room was filled with the screams of the chair legs scratching across the floor. The maids and butlers stood in complete shock, every single one of them just as captivated by Taehyung as I was.
I swallowed hard. He dragged the poor chair until he finally stopped only three feet from where I was sitting. With a smooth motion he picked up the chair, sliding it under the table right next to me.
With a satisfied cough he took a seat. One of the butlers awkwardly picked up his plate of food that was left at his original spot all the way at the opposite end of the table.
The butler placed the plate of sushi in front of Taehyung. Taehyung looked up at Mrs. Uim.
"Excuse me for my manners, but I'd appreciate it if all the maids and butlers could step out for a moment. I'd like to have a private conversation with my beloved husband."
My eyes widened. No. Not again, I couldn't be left alone with this man. I was quick to grasp Mrs. Uim's wrist. I looked at Taehyung with wavering eyes.
"I really don't see why that's necessary." I said, a tone of warning filtering through my words. He raised a single eyebrow.
"Very well." He said simply. He picked up his chopsticks, elegantly pressing the sticks together to pick up his first piece of sushi. He slid the piece in his mouth, chewing fully before he spoke again.
"Last night-" He started. I slammed my fist on the table, my cheeks flushing red. I coughed as hard as I could. Mrs. Uim, startled, began patting my back in hard pounds. Taehyung smirked.
This bastard was really that shameless? I pressed my tongue to my cheek. Fine. Privacy it is. I cleared my throat.
"You know what. Maybe a private conversation with my husband was the best decision after all." I said, my breaths heavy. The veins on my neck bulged with contention. Alright, Taehyung.
Let's get this over with. Mrs. Uim took the hint, leading all the maids and butlers out of the room. She closed the doors, leaving Taehyung and I entirely alone. Without a single bother he continued to gracefully empty his plate.
The silence was killing me. Why won't he say anything? I glanced at the bandage. What did I need to say to him anyways?
Did I have anything I even needed to tell him? I was sick of his act of complete tranquility. It was pissing me off.
