I walked through the doors with a dwindle in my confidence. The hotel was to no surprise extravagant. With gold fixtures, beautiful marble, glass chandeliers, and rustic wood accents. It was no mystery how truly priceless the entire building was. My mouth dropped into a frown upon seeing Taehyung talking to the receptionist. I wasn't exactly prepared to see him so early. I was sure I had at least another hour before we'd have to make contact.

I glanced towards the elevators. Maybe I could just walk past. I glided my heels against the floor, attempting to make the bottom of my shoe hit with less force, therefore creating a quieter sequence of repetitive noise. Unfortunately, Taehyung doesn't even let a fucking dust particle float past without his knowledge.

"Darling, I'm glad you made it." He hummed kindly. I wanted to vomit. I completely forgot that my contract forces him to call me those stupid pet names. I turned on my heel, producing the fakest smile I could muster.

"Heading up? I'll join you. I want to show you around the venue anyways."

Taehyung walks past me, pressing the arrow for the elevator with such grace. I rolled my eyes, dragging my feet to stand next to him. I had to play good husband if my plan was going to work.

I knew that, but I could already tell that responsibility alone was going to be the hardest part of tonight. All the eyes on us gave a little boost of motivation to act accordingly. I glanced at the lobby, both staff and guests watched us with amusement and envy.

The elevator slid open with a perky ding. Hell, even the fucking elevator chime sounded expensive. I didn't even know that was possible. I followed Taehyung into the elevator. I positioned myself a few paces behind him, leaning against the gold pole lining the back.

I dragged my eyes up and down Taehyung's physique. He wore an all black tight turtleneck that buttoned just below his chin, tight pants that opened at the bottom, frilly pink lace entirely engulfing his feet. A black long jacket with pink flowers lining the seams and similar frilly lace sewed to the very bottom and the end of the sleeves.

To no surprise, it wasn't hard to admit he looked expensive and painfully unrepeated. I glanced forward, wishing I hadn't. Taehyung had been watching me the entire time through the reflective gold surface of the elevator doors.

He stepped forward, pressing his finger firmly against the emergency stop button. My heart pounded against my chest as the elevator slowed to a stop. Taehyung adjusted his jacket to hang lower off his shoulders before turning to face me.

He grinned.

"You look ecstatic." He said, looking me up and down shamelessly. I was trying to think of the best way to handle this situation. Part of me believed that it might be better if I just stayed silent. I nodded, at least acknowledging the compliment.

He stepped forward, closing the gap between us. My face became hot, the waves of heat pulsating through my veins, the stream of fire moving up my neck. I didn't dare to step back. I wasn't going to let him move me. Not tonight. Today was my day. My victory.

He stopped just a few centimeters in front of me. I left his hot breath. Even smelled it, which unfortunately wasn't as discomforting as I thought it would be. In fact, his breath smelled like sweet mint with a hint of unfamiliar spice that curled around my nostrils. He raised his hand, gently twirling one of my front hair pieces around his finger. He untwisted it elegantly, adjusting the strand of hair just how he liked it.

"You should style your hair like this more often."

I hummed again, simply acknowledging but keeping my mouth sealed. I kept my hands behind my back knowing that if I let myself push him away, or worse, punch him square in the jaw, my entire plan would be ruined. Good things come to those who wait. He flicked his finger against one of my earrings, letting it swing back and forth.
