"Kiddo, no matter what happens in your race, you need to remember that we are all so proud of you. As is your father."
Kimi Raikonnen hugged his niece just before the race was due to commence, and he could feel her shaking with nerves.
"What if I come last? I'll be a failure." Larissa's muffled voice sounded as her face was buried in her uncles chest. She hadn't been nervous during qualifying, but now, the nerves had completely invaded her.
"Even if you come last, you'll never be a failure." Kimi pulled her face up so he could look down into the brown eyes that she had inherited from her father. "You worked your way up, despite all the challenges you faced. You faced sexism in F3 when you team mate was a dick, you faced racism in F2 by a rival's father, you faced your friends throughout your career, and you still beat them. You could never be a failure."
"But-"
"No buts." Kimi shook his head. "Even if you crashed into me, I would stand by my words. Obviously I wouldn't be happy but-"
"You're never happy, uncle Kimi." Larissa giggled as the man with the nickname of 'the Iceman' gave her a pointed look. She loved to annoy him.
"Obviously I wouldn't be happy, but I would stand by that you're not a failure, and that I am always proud of you." Kimi finished his speech to a small round of applause from someone stood behind him.
"Great speech, but we have limited time before the race and you're taking up most of it. Move over for the rest of us." Sebastian Vettel warned his team mate, before he walked over to his niece, pulling her into a tight hug. "Go out there, and show them what mini Cohen can do. Prove to the world, that world drivers championship trophies belong in the trophy cabinet of the Cohen family."
"Thanks Uncle Sebby." Larissa smiled softly as her uncle cupped her cheeks, before placing a small kiss on her forehead.
"Any room for me?" Fernando Alonso appeared behind the tall German, eloping his niece in a big hug, as he rested his chin on the top of her head.
"There's always room for you, Uncle Nando." Larissa hugged the Spanish man. Out of the three of her uncles, her uncle Nando had attended the most of her races when she was working her way up, and he always hugged her like this. He had done since she was a child.
"Your father is here, and he's so proud of you. We all are." Fernando reassured his niece, before he pulled back upon seeing a figure running full speed towards them.
"Bestie!!!!! It's your first race, oh my god!!" Zahra arrived, tackling her best friend in to a hug that nearly sent both of them to the ground.
"I know Z, I can't believe it. We've done it." Larissa laughed as she braced so they wouldn't fall to the ground.
"No. You've done it. It was all you!" Zahra pulled back from the hug, quickly removing her high heels from her feet. "I regret running in heels, my feet are dying."
"We both know that I couldn't have made it without you." Larissa smiled, knowing that Zahra was the reason she was able to make it formula one in the first place.
"Oh please, I barely did anything. You're the one who drives the cars!" Zahra rolled her eyes, before she caught her best friend subtly scanning the area for one more person.
"Have you seen my mom?" Larissa asked as her uncles looked to the ground. Zahra released a deep sigh and shook her head.
"She's not coming, Lis. I'm sorry. I had messaged her asking when she was landing and she said that she was having a spa week in São Paulo and wasn't coming. I'm so sorry." Zahra pulled her friend into a hug once more, knowing how much she had wanted her mother there.
