SIXTY SEVEN

"How's the second greatest Cohen in the world doing, on this fine evening?"

Zahra Bailey shot a playful wink as she approached the figure of her best friend, who seemed to be zoned out, staring off in to the distance.

After getting no response to her question, the Bailey woman clicked her fingers in front of her friends face, gaining her attention and making the Brazilian girl snap out from her thoughts that were clouding her head.

"Last time, I was on this track, I thought that I was dying the same way that my dad did."

Larissa Cohen let the words that had been in her mind free as she stared at the track in front of her, her hands trembling slightly from the rotten memories of both her crash and the flashbacks from her fathers final day on earth.

The German race track was a great track to drive on, normally. However her crash last year had shaken her love for the track, since she knew that she easily could have followed in her dad's footsteps and been killed in a fireball crash.

For some reason, it wasn't like her crash at the Chinese Grand Prix, or any other of her crashes that she had throughout her career, because this one at the German grand prix had been the only time that her car had ever burst in to Flames.

At least, whilst she was still inside of it.

It wasn't that she was scared to get back in to a Formula one car and drive around the track, because she knew that she wasn't, and that she would be okay, it was mainly that she knew just how close she had come to mirroring her fathers death and she knew that would have been her worst nightmare.

"It's okay to be scared, Lis. Nobody would blame you for being terrified." Zahra placed her hand on her best friends arm to comfort her, feeling the coldness of the Cohen girls skin underneath her fingertips.

"What did uncle Sebby think? He would've seen my car crash and burst in to flames... he would've thought that history was repeating itself and that there was nothing that he could do." Larissa whispered to herself, remembering how her uncle Sebby had not finished the race and would have been able to see her car where it crashed.

Zahra released a deep sigh as she pulled her best friend in to her side, giving comfort whilst also allowing her to stare out at the track, since it was very obvious that was what she wanted to do.

The sound of somebody clearing their throat from behind the two ladies took their attention away from the track, and towards a man who was stood awkwardly behind them, his hands in his pockets.

"What are you doing here?" The Bailey woman questioned, her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion as her eyes recognised the face.

And it was not who she was expecting.

"I thought that I'd find you here."

Lance Stroll spoke directly to the Cohen girl, seeing her immediately shooting him a glare, which only made the corners of his lips twitch up since he knew that she would do that.

"What do you want?" Larissa snapped, clenching her fists at his presence.

She didn't know how much of her conversation with her best friend that he had heard.

"I just wanted to check on you. I figured that you would be here, remembering last year. I just wanted to see if you were okay." Lance smiled softly, seeing that whilst Larissa only glared at him, that Zahra who was next to her, had given him a small smile back.

"Ir com os porcos." Larissa spat with venom in her tone, seeing the boy in front of her furrow his dark eyebrows together in slight confusion.
