PROLOGUE
Eight year old Larissa Cohen knew the moment her father's Ferrari Formula One car hit the wall at 180mph that he wasn't making it out alive. She watched from the Ferrari garage as the race was red flagged, with stewards running to get him out.
She knew the moment it caught fire that she had to say goodbye, so despite her tiny legs and the engineers desperate attempts to stop her, she ran on to the track, heading for the crash that would claim her father's life any minute.
Other racing drivers watched on sadly as the eight year old girl ran on the track as fast as she could, until one driver yelled at her to grab on to his seat, taxiing her to her father.
Fernando Alonso was a very close friend of her father, and he loved that little girl, so, he knew there wasn't a choice but for him to drive her to the accident, but he couldn't help but regret it when he saw the scene.
The car was completely alight, burning orange, black smoke pluming from the wreck of what was once a car. Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikonnen tried desperately to put the flames out and get their best friend out, hearing his screams of agony as he burned.
Alonso and the child soon ran as close as they were allowed to, the girl clutching at the Spanish man's hand like her life depended on it.
"DADDY!" Larissa screamed, tears flooding down her cheeks as the dam had broken.
She saw her fathers head move from within the flames, she knew.
Their eyes met, sadness staring at each other for less than a second, before it all came crashing down.
BOOM!
The explosion of the car sent the man's best friends and stewards to the ground, as his daughter was pulled tightly into the arms of the man who had driven her there, as she sobbed into the crook of his neck.
"I'm so sorry, little one. I'm so sorry."
"I hate ferrari." The little girl sobbed, knowing full well what was the cause of the crash.
Brake failure.
She had heard her father's words over the radio about his brakes not working just before he crashed, the words that would forever haunt her.
"I've got no brakes! I can't stop! I can't- Kimi, look after my girl. Baby, I'm sorr-"
She hated Ferrari. She hated Monza. She swore that when she got to formula One, she would never drive for ferrari.
And she stuck to that.
19 year old Larissa Cohen was about to enter the world of Formula One, having become champion of formula two.
The racing world was shook when the news broke that she had turned down Ferrari. She didn't want to be associated with them, so, she drove for a little team, called Toro Rosso.
She had a teammate, Pierre Gasly, who's partner had just left the sport, leaving her the perfect opening to show that more than one member in the Cohen family was capable of becoming the World Champion.
