harlee's pov:
wednesday afternoon

unknown: outside

I started regretting my decision as I heard my ringtone go off, making my stomach drop.

examining myself one last time in my full length mirror, I brushed my long curly hair out with my fingers.

I wore a gray long sleeved shirt, black tight jeans, my mom's gucci belt, and black converse completing the outfit.

my mom was working a night shift at the hospital; so I would be home alone until about 12.

I quickly walked down the carpeted staircase then twisting the cool metal doorknob. exposing me to the freezing january afternoon.

the sun was shining but it was still in the twenties this this time of year. winter is for sure my least favorite season.

there's just nothing about the winter time I enjoy besides christmas break.

it's always so gloomy and I never have motivation this time of year.

as soon as I walked far enough away from my house my eyes landed on a white jeep rubicon, with red accents.

my jaw dropped just thinking about how expensive the car was.

the closer I got to the car. the better view I got of javon. he was on his phone as one hand held onto the steering wheel.

I knocked lightly on the window. his head snapping up to lock eyes with me. he sent a small smile my way before unlocking the doors.

I pulled the handle, lightly lifting myself onto the power step before getting into the car.

"you know the doors were unlocked the whole time?" his raspy voice asked, as he threw his phone into the cup holder.

"whatever," I said dragging out my 'r'. "where are we even going?"

"you'll see." he said to me starting to back out of my driveway. "you look pretty though." he added.

it felt like a stinging sensation running through my body after his compliment.

before I could thank him he had his hands on the wheel putting the car in drive, "let's go."

I wanted to say something but it was like my body was stopping me from doing so.

one of javon's hands rested on the wheel while the other turned the music back up.

his eyes glued onto the road.

"do you like italian food?" his eyebrows narrowed as he turned over to look at me.

my lips pressed against each other lightly, "yeah,"

"ok good." he chuckled. looking back to the road and resting his elbow on the console.

the drive was short and for the most part is was completely silent.

and I picked up on the fact that javon was quite a reckless driver. tailgating and getting over in front of almost everyone.
