~To The Story~

Miho hasn't stopped texting you.

It's annoying but at least she hasn't straight-up spammed your phone. Because that would have been childish and pathic. So far, you've only at least received two messages from her and it's usually the same. Such as; 'hey, can we please talk?' Or 'I'm really sorry.'

Why is she even so insisted on speaking to you anyway? She made you feel like shit that night. The fact that she was so confident that Gakushu would reject you was so downright insulting and even lowered your confidence.

Unless... perhaps she's aware of how insulted you felt and was now feeling guilty over it?

For a split second, you were considering replying to her messages.

"What am I thinking?" You muttered, shaking your head.

You couldn't even stand her at some point during your blossoming friendship with her. In a way, you're glad things turned out this way before things got ugly. You lost a friend of yours because of her jealousy. You don't want a repeat of that.

For the hundredth time, you ignored her message and slipped your phone into the pocket of your jeans.

You had other things to do this Saturday besides thinking about Miho.

"Oh, hey (y/n)-san." Shoyo smiled a waved the second he saw you.

You were glad you made plans to hang out with Shoyo. If you were to stay at home, you would torture yourself just thinking about Miho being with Gakushu tonight. It also didn't help that you're alone in the house for the weekend. Your parents left to visit your grandparents for the weekend so it's harder to distract yourself when you're the only one at home.

"Sup." You smiled back. "Ready to hit some balls?... Not literally men's balls though."

"I... I knew what you meant." He says awkwardly. "Um... I already spoke with the front desk dude. He said all the cages are filled. I think there is a birthday party going on."

Just by walking into the building, you can tell there was some kind of event going on. The children weren't exactly quiet. They proved to be louder than the bats hitting the white baseballs.

"So not one cage is available?"

"No not at the moment. He did say that they have another thirty minutes left though."

"We can wait that long." You chirped. It's only thirty minutes. "Oh, while we wait we can have some fries." You quickly suggested. "They're super good!"

"They sell fries here?"

"On the second floor." You said and impatiently grabbed the boy by his wrist. Shoyo has got a sense of deja vu from this.

The second floor was a bit smaller than the first floor. It was only meant as a place to eat. Usually, people would spend at least an hour playing downstairs and then come up here to munch on something. But since the batting cages were being occupied, might as well munch now and play later.

The second floor wasn't as busy as the first floor, so you and Shoyo could freely sit in any spot. And it turns out, the fries were good. Shoyo was enjoying them. What made it difficult for him to enjoy it fully however was how your knees kept brushing against his, due to how small the tables were.

He knew you could feel it too but it seemed as though you didn't even care.

And you didn't. The fries we're doing their magic and keeping you busy.

Your good mood swiftly dwindled when your phone buzzed, however. It was Miho texting you again. You didn't keep yourself in check in front of the white-haired boy so he clearly saw the way your face twisted into annoyance.
