34| Just As Bad

~To The Story~

Miho met Gakushu at a charity event a few years ago.

The charity was meant to raise money for local schools that don't have the greatest budget. She already agreed that she would be one of the special guests for tonight, but that didn't mean she was excited to go. It was a long and stressful day. All she wants to do is stay home with all her fish pets. Her days have been getting busier now that she was gaining more popularity.

Not that she couldn't handle it. This is exactly what she wanted even if she had lost some friends along the way. Some shunned her due to jealousy when her modelling career was becoming more successful than theirs. Some turned out to be total fakers, only using her for her popularity. But, Miho pushed through. More than anything she just wants to be a model. The most popular model.

Sure, that doesn't mean she gets lonely from time to time, but at least her job keeps her too busy from constantly thinking about it. Until her manager reminded her about the charity event. There goes her night of being alone.

She wished she could have brought a date or at least a friend, but instead, her bitch of a sister insisted on coming, along with her new boyfriend. What's worse is that her sister's boyfriend was a guy she really liked. When her sister found out, she immediately made him her boyfriend just to piss off the young model.

Now, Miho does know the guy was a bit too old for her, but her sister didn't have to do that! Her sister doesn't even like the guy that much.

Miho tried to convince her sister to not come tonight, for the sake of her sanity, but, of course, she failed. So, the young model tried her best to ignore her sister and kept herself busy by mingling with the other guests.

However, when it was time for everyone to sit down to enjoy their meals, Miho was forced to be in close proximity to her older sister. Miho relaxed more and more when she realized her sister wasn't giving her the time of day. When her guard was down completely, however, her sister grabbed Miho's glass, purposely spilling her drink on her lap.

Miho gasps. She can only watch in horror as the drink unapologetically created a huge red stain on her brand-new bright blue dress.

"Oh, Miho," Her sister sighs, feigning a sympathetic look, hiding that mockery face she would often make at her. "You're so clumsy. How can you call yourself a model when you can't even hold your own drink properly?"

'You're the one who spilled my drink, asshole.'

Miho grinds her teeth, itching to lash out at her sister. And she would have done so if it weren't for the fact that she was surrounded by all these people. Lashing out right now would only damage her image.

The brunette huffs, though the rage in her eyes hasn't dwindled in the slightest.

"I'm sorry," Miho mumbled.

She then rose from her seat and left. There were a ton of people talking around her, but she could have sworn she was able to pick up on her sister's evil chuckle.

'Don't cry, don't cry.' Miho kept the palm of her hand against her forehead as she rushes past the crowd. She did her best to avoid any eye contact with the other guests.

Her goal was to find the bathroom, but the area was too large, and she didn't have the energy to go and look for it. So she settled for the quiet corner of the room.

She kept her back turned to the crowd. She focused on her breathing, mentally giving herself a pep talk to keep herself from breaking down right here.

'I should have just stayed home.'
