~To The Story~
"Hey, (y/n)-chan, wanna hang out today?"
You could not share Miho's enthusiasm due to literally just waking up. You didn't even check to see who called you and just blindly answered your phone. Staring tiredly at the ceiling while scratching your stomach you tried to process what she asked.
"Hey, Miho-san." You greeted and heard how groggily you sounded which prompted you to clear your throat. "Sorry, I can't. I'm using these days to study for finals."
"Finals? Yuck!" With a long and dramatic sigh from her end, she said, "I shouldn't bother you then. I guess that means Gakushu is busy as well, huh?"
"You know how he is. His studying comes first."
"I know. What a nerd," she giggled.
You avoided telling her that you're meeting up with Gakushu today. Even if she seems okay with you liking Gakushu, you would still prefer to avoid drama. And it seems like it was the best way to control your jealousy if he wasn't brought up at all.
"Are you going to ask Gakushu to help you?"
Oh for the love of-
"Uh." You hesitated for a moment. "I already did. I really want to get a good grade after all."
Is it you, or does it feel like you're trying to defend yourself?
"He is the right person to go to."
You licked your chapped lip, unsure of what to say next.
"Do... you want to tag along?"
You almost facepalmed at your request and started to internally beg for her to turn down your offer. Why are you so stupid in the morning?!
If she tags along, you'll be forced to see those two talk.
"Nah, Gakushu would just make me work." Your feeling of relief was cut short when Miho kept talking. "You go and study with him I'm having lunch with him and his mom on Sunday anyways."
Feeling a huge wave of irritation go through you, you let out a tight smile that looked obviously fake.
"How nice."
It took a lot of restrain for those words to not sound sarcastic and you assumed you hid it well because Miho kept talking as normal.
"When you're done with your exams, call me so we can make plans to hang out."
"If I don't die that is," you said, then groaned.
Miho simply laughed. "You'll be fine. Best of luck~" leaving you with a sing-song voice, she hung up.
With the call ended, you set your phone off to the side of your bed then turned over to the other direction to catch more shut-eye. Yes, you are aware that it's only 10:15 in the morning but you were up late last night playing games online.
Just five more minutes, then you're ready for the day. Five more minutes...
Ping.
Groaning, you open your eyes with a huge frown.
Okay, if it's not Gakushu or one of your friends texting you then you're going to throw a fit.
Rolling over, you got your phone and when checked to see the name, your annoyance subdued a bit when you saw that it was Shoyo texting you.
