15| Sour Taste

~To The Story~

You quietly watched as the star-crossed lovers reunite again after so many years. Upon seeing each other, the sounds in the background faded. The woman's red ruby lips curled into a soft and sad smile while her lover had mirrored her expression. You held your breath when you saw the man open his mouth. You wanted him to explain everything. You want him to tell her how he never wanted to leave and how all those other relationships he had with previous women meant nothing to him.

Your suspense has dwindled however when the camera starts to back away and began to film the sea. Seconds later, the words "Fin" has etched on the screen.

"Wait..." You scrunched up your nose when the screen went black, "That's how it ends?" You took the remote and started to fast forward to see if there was another scene after the credits.

Naoki shrugged, who was sitting at the other end of the couch. "I've seen worse endings."

"After six seasons and so many miscommunications and heartbreaks, they give us this sorry excuse of an ending?! At least propose to her! There's gotta be more! It felt more like a cliffhanger!"

You got hooked into this series since the first episode. And whenever you and Naoki were free, the two of you watch a few episodes a day. You have watched these characters suffer and grow as people for the past few months you have been watching this show so you will not stand for this kind of ending!

"Wasn't this based on a book?"

You stilled at Naoki's words. Should you read the book? It might have more content the show missed out on. But that would mean you were going to have to repeat all the pain and emotion you felt when watching the show.

"If it's available on Amazon I might order it." You eventually said and took out your phone so you can find if the book is accessible.

In the meantime though, you were stuck with this kind of ending until you get another ending. Well... you hope the book had a different ending.

As you were typing the name of the series, your phone suddenly pinged. Your eyes caught the message icon pop up and saw Gakushu's name on it.

"Oh, Gakushu is texting me."

"Yah!" Naoki cheered. "Distraction." He scooted closer to you so he can read the messages along with you.

Not minding the boy nor the close proximity, you went ahead and tapped onto the message icon to open up the texting app.

I need your help.

Help? Gakushu, the golden boy himself needs your help?! You had to re-read the message multiple times to make sure you read the message right.

"Gakushu-kun is asking for my help!" You turned to Naoki with a frantic tone. "What do I do?"

It's not common for Gakushu to ask you for help. He normally knows how to handle things himself. So it must be pretty serious if he came to you.

The shaggy hair male deadpan at you. "Answer the text."

"R-right." You stuttered, then focus your attention on your phone. Your thumbs hovered over the screen for a moment out of nervousness before eventually typing a sentence.
