~To The Story~
You had a feeling that the rumour of Gakushu having a girlfriend won't die any time soon. It might have been too soon to say considering it hasn't even been a day yet, but girls and their gossiping can last for a lifetime. The main reason for that is because since you knew the full story of who Gakushu was walking in the rain and also, hearing girls discuss and theorized which girl from this school could have been the mystery girl was just giving you a bad taste.
"Asano-kun offered you a ride yesterday and you accepted?!" Naoki screeched from the other line. You held your smartphone a good distance away from your ear to save your poor eardrums.
"Why are you so mad?" You asked, before taking a bite of your egg sandwich, sitting alone in the stairwells.
"Cause when I offered you a ride with a friend, you turned me down. But as soon as Asano-kun asked you, you agree with no question?! What if he took advantage of your body?!"
The heat rose onto your face in seconds. "H-he would never do something like that!!!" You exclaimed.
"He's a guy!!" He argued back.
"... Naoki..." You deadpanned. "You're a guy. Do you have any idea how many times you went to my room for us to study together?"
"I should be an exce... exce... ACHO!!"
"Bless you."
"Thanks." You heard him say follow by him blowing his nose.
"Look." You cleared your throat. "Gakushu-kun is a gentleman. He would never do that to me. He even offers to walk me home after my shift at night."
Naoki sniffled before mumbling something but you couldn't make out to what it was. "Alright." He spoke more clearly now. "But if he does something to make you uncomfortable just tell me so I can kick him!"
You rolled your eyes "I hear he takes martial arts. You'll be beaten into a pulp. But thanks." You smiled nonetheless, appreciating his concern over you.
"Ugh, way to hurt my pride, (y/n)." Noaki blew more snot out of his nose. "So anyway," he sniffled. "Now everyone in school thinks you're Asano-kun's girlfriend?"
"Well, no. No one knew that was me. Gakushu-kun didn't tell anyone it was me."
"Oof, just imagine if he did. You would have a mob behind your back."
You twitched an eyebrow. "Thank you, Naoki, for that mental image." Your voice dripped with sarcasm.
Naoki sheepishly laughed. "Sorry, sorry" He sniffled. "Glad no one is after you though."
"Same." You sighed.
"Besides that. Did I miss anything else?"
You had to think about it for a minute. What else did he miss? Something that doesn't involve with highschool scandals.
"We have a lot of assignments for science. Our teacher was in a bad mood so that's the reason." You grimace, remembering how long Science class felt because of your teacher's pissy mood.
"Whew. Good thing I choose to get sick when it was her time of the month."
"Who said it was her time of the month?" You muttered annoyingly. "And for the record, you didn't choose to get sick. You were the one who stayed out in the rain. What were you even doing out in the rain?! I thought you had a ride?!"
"Ahhh, well." Naoki sheepishly laughed, no doubt trying to stall his answer. "I did... But afterwards, I stayed out in the rain to walk home. My buddy had no plans to drive me home, hehe."
