"Did you hear what happened to Nengi during the holiday?"
Urghh early morning gossips.
I plugged in my earphones and listened to Dandelions by Ruth B. This song be living in my head rent-free.
The seat beside dipped in. I turned to see who it was that got into my territory without my permission. Everyone knows only Awele stays at the front seat, the seat directly behind the driver.
Okay...maybe they don't know Awele stays there because they don't know my name but at least they know the weird girl that occupies it. I don't even get to fight for the seat because it's unwanted.
Everyone prefers to sit at the back where the royalties stays. The queen gossips, slay queens, clout chasers, bad boys and girls, rich and popular kids.
Back to the issue on ground, I turned to see the fat Hijabi girl whose name I have no idea. She was going through her bag like she lost something very important.
I would have asked why she was in my space but Awele never speaks. Not like I'm dumb or something, I just hate talking. It's a whole level of stress.
I glanced her way again. It looked like she finally found what she was looking for. I almost hissed when I saw what she was holding.
A chocolate bar.
Was that what she was intently searching for?
This school had more of creepos than actual students.
The school bus stopped at a junction and the chief gossip, also said to be the most beautiful, Gold Oreva.
When we talk about your name doing wonders for you.
Gold Oreva was someone you couldn't just not notice. She was a noisemaker, a gossip and her skin. She was so light. Her light complexion made her more beautiful and irresistible. She really earned the name Gold.
She also had stupid minions who followed her every move, obeyed her every command. Boys always flocked around her.
I watched as she got into the school bus with her iPhone 11 on her hand. Majority of students at Beacon Hill Academy had the latest iPhone which sometimes made me want to throw my iPhone 8 into my bag and keep it hidden forever.
Her navy blue pleated skirt swung left and right as she walked. Gold was endowed both front and back and her skirt wasn't helping matters. They were so short.
I put my earphones down and switched off my phone.
"Gold!!!" Some girls shrieked at the back as she walked towards the back. Sounds of palms connecting with palms were made. Heavy laughters filling the bus.
"Ohmigawd! Your skin is glowing even better than before."
"I swear! Gold, what's your skin routine na?"
