"This is a new session. If you like don't take what is yours. I don't want you taking second position. I'm not spending millions here just for you to be a second to someone. All you can do is follow boys around, no good grades anymore. Baby, don't even try to get anything short of a first position this term." She smiled, tucking stray strands of my hair behind my ear.

"D'you hear me?" I nodded vigorously. "Are you dumb? Can't you speak?"

"Yes ma"

"Good. Now get out of my sight." I scrambled out of the car rushing in.

I forgot to introduce myself.

I'm Teniola Dayo-Daniels. I'm the only child of my ruthless mother. What happened in the car is what has been happening ever since that welfare bastard entered this school.

I bumped into someone on my way to the Senior's block. Books fell all over the place and my forehead was in contact with the person's forehead as well.

I was about to apologize because I knew I was at fault. I wasn't looking where I was going and it looked like the person was carrying a lot of load.

"I'm so so sorry, Teni." I heard that sickly disgusting voice I hated say.

I shot her a look that spelt pure hatred and she turned her face down.

"I'm sorry. I didn't see you coming." I felt like strangling her at that point.

"Hazeezat? Finally I found you. I've been looking all over the place for you." I heard the voice that would forever be imprinted in my memory.

"Ohh why?" The idiot questioned him. He didn't even spare me a glance.

"The principal called for you apparently. Plus I haven't seen your face since last term." I was boiling with rage by now. Why was I still standing here?

I brushed my skirt and walked away before I gag my whole intestine out.

I've always had a thing for Lotanna but he's never even looked my direction once.

I saw my bestfriends, Maimuna and Nana walking towards me. When they got to where I was, they engulfed me in a big hug.

"How are you? I've missed you soo much." Maimuna said. She was holding a pack of Oreos.

"Babe, we basically saw everyday during the summer break." I told Muna. Muna is like a child, she can't do without staying with someone. Unlike people that find her childish, I find her really cute. She's the best at giving advices too.

"It's me that missed you both more." Nana said.

"We missed you too. You were so far away in Ghana. How was Ghana though?"

Nana Kwame is Ghanaian and she's my bestfriend. She schools in Nigeria because her mom believes morals are best instilled in teenagers here in Nigeria. Her mom is Nigerian as you may have presumed.
