The morning breeze fluttered as light waves crashed in the hull of the boat, I awoke with a start. I had no clue where I was, or if I was heading in the right direction. In the long distance, was something that looked like an island, maybe it was Europe! But then again, there was no way I could of made it there so fast, it must have been an island. My body ached, it felt like it could all combust, I felt so uncomfortable, but I had to continue for Artemis - I couldn't leave her to die.
*A few hours later*
I had completely lost track of time, one thing I swore not to do. Without warning, a sudden rumble shook my boat, shaking it violently. Out of nowhere, a massive explosion erupted, a gigantic sea monsters burst out, roaring deafeningly. I instantly recognised who it was - Scylla. Panic burst through my veins, as I frantically tried to locate where I had last placed my weapon. I had no idea how to defend myself from that beast, I didn't think she had noticed me yet.(thankfully, because I was still rushing around trying to find my bow and arrow.) After finally arming myself with something, I formed a strong stance to make sure I don't get knocked off my feet within seconds.
Quick update: that didn't work, she noticed me, and with her trident, she slapped me into the water, fantastic. I loaded my bow and arrow and shot aimlessly at Scylla, hoping to to some damage, but instead, I angered her even more. I held my breath, I dipped underwater, trying to think of a plan on how to defeat her. I had a plan, (somehow) she had scales as strong as iron, but I noticed, that on her chest, the scales were ripped off, revealing parts of her skin, I I could aim right there, in the centre, I would have a chance at killing her.
Confident with my plan, I resurfaced just to find a very angry sea monster glaring back down at me, she pointed her spiky trident at me, but I was faster. It seemed like time slowed down, (like Percy fighting Kronos in SoM😼) I loaded my bow and arrow and roughly aimed at her heart, I let go, praying to hit her weak spot. My arrow flew forwards, it was definitely going to hit her chest, 3...2...1... AHHHHH a bloodcurdling screech echoed the the empty ocean as Scylla collapsed, leaving a massive splash as she fell.
Impressed with myself, I effortfully swam to my boat that somehow survived, and hopped in and I continued rowing forwards until the sun hung low, I rowed straight into the horizon, admiring the breath-taking sunset, purple and orange streaks making a unforgettable scenery, the warm air blowing in my face, swishing my hair back. (main character moment) As I slumped down in the boat, I let the waves take control, as my eyes slowly began to close, shutting out the magnificent view.
